AWD + Snow = Fun

We finally got a decent amount of snow here so I took the SHO out to play and to test how the Nitto Motivo did in the snow. At the end of the day the tires were good in the snow but snow tires would have been much better, but wouldn't last as long with my driving. The SHO's AWD system is a good Auxiliary setup that allows the car to put its power down. I wouldn't compare it to a EVO, STi or Audi AWD setup.

Ahh..Lets Play

I had to take Mom's Element up to the parts store...which involved a side trip to a deserted parking lot. WORST. AWD. EVER. Undefeatable traction control and vehicle stability means as soon as you get it drifting nicely, the computers step in and try to wrench it back straight forward...which means that anything more than about 10* of wheel means that you WILL be suddenly understeering the opposite way you intend to. Ugh.

Dad's Super Duty Crewcab long bed 4X4 was MUCH more fun.

I just dropped off a bedful of cardboard and Christmas trash at a recycle dumpster, in a C'bus park that had not been plowed. Much of the tire tracks left over the last few days had melted and refreezed, so there was a wide berth of icy goodness.

Rumbled Cleetus over to the patch, start turning gently and BRAAAAAP!!! in 1st gear. Instant 180* turn. I forgot how much fun hooning can be.
