The_buster
Our three year old keeps getting right up on the tv to watch it, its a 39" tv about 6-8' from the couch. She has no problem seeing things when were outside, whether they're near or far. Is she just fascinated by the new tv, we got it a few months ago and upgraded from a 27" to the 39hdtv. How old do kids need to be before going to the optometrist?

thorne
If you have the ask you have taken them. Don't you take them in for normal check ups anyways?
Sully
I heard smacking them on the nose with a rolled up newspaper works wonders.
Green Bastard
A good indication is when they start bumping into things like walls and tables. My nephew has glasses (he is 3), but I don't think its so much a vision problem as his one eye crosses and the glasses are used to try to correct that. I believe also my brother had to wait until he was three for glasses, but that was 23 years ago, things have possibly changed since then. Akula
It could be he just wants to sit by the TV but I would take him if you think he can't see.

No, this would mean all other signs were ignored, and this child should have been to the eye doctor long ago. This kid is blind.

noobiemcnooberson.
When you take your kid, have your eyes checked as well. Maybe you need some vision correction to identify a decent used car and we've been busting your balls for something not entirely your fault. mrs.cos
Glasses at 3 for me as a kid... Take him now. If you're lucky his vision is fine and you are out your copay.

Tractor
Kids get within inches of TVs. Thats pretty normal and we just tell them to get back, eventually they stop.
