Curiousity is killing me

We bought another Firebird, 1999 - Formula 6spd, completely bone stock. After looking under it I am pretty sure it has always been completely stock.

Here is something that completely puzzles me though, next to the traction control switch, there are 2 perfectly cut out holes where someone has drilled through the plastic. Normally you would think Nitrous switches. But there isn't any evidence the car has ever had anything done to it.

My question is, what else could have possibly been installed in this location?!

They're definitely for bumper-mounted M40 belt-fed machine guns.

srsly though what kind of evidence are you looking for? A hole in the lid, which they probably replaced with a stock one before selling? Screw holes for the control unit which they could have zip-tied to something? Like Scott said, it's a 90's car.. it's lived through the rise and fall of the Fast & Furious era. Who knows.

It has stock everything, if it was modded I don't really see someone going to the trouble to put it this far back to stock. The car has been here in Columbus its whole life and has the rust to prove it.

I am mostly curious wtf the holes where for. I never thought about the neon lights. lol Something I would have done.
