WANTED: Reliable Vehicle for around $1200

Finally landed my buddy a job here at NW. Now he needs some reliable transportation from Heath to downtown. I found him a carpool for now, but he definately wants his own vehicle.

I think he will be scoping out JD byrider or something like that soon, and I just thought about posting here.

He'd love to find a pickup with a 4 cyl or at most a V6. He would prefer a manual transmission, but auto not a deal breaker.

2wd OK.

Thanks!

Mike

DO NOT BUY A CAR AT JD BYRIDER OR BUY HERE/PAY HERE. That's all I will say.

Yeah this too.

They basically take complete junk cars and use their own finance company to get people into long term high interest loans on cars they'll be flipped in literally until the day it's paid off.

I might have a vehicle for sale. Depending on our snow forecast.

'96 Jeep Cherokee Country.

The good: 4.0 straight 6, 124k miles. not rusted, fairly 'clean' for the age. 4wd works. Electric windows/locks work. Wired for audio.

The bad: The windshield needs replaced ($200 quotes) I don't mind it but I guess you could be pulled over for it, doesn't have a headliner and vibrates a bit on the highway.

1300 Firm.

So the JD Byryder was a mess. He was able to get out of it.

He is open to any car that is reliable. Now he is more like $700 though instead of $1200.

I understand this may be impossible, but worth a shot!

Thanks!
