Mojoe
Can a Mod set up a poll? Do you run winter tires? If not, why? Don't care, they don't make that big a difference. Cost too much. Ohio doesn't get the weather/ I don't drive in areas that justify it. I have AWD and don't need snowtires If people do run winter tires, please reply with make and how you like them. I run General Articmax on 2 cars and have run them for 4 years on other cars. I love them. Never been stuck. I have a set being put on the wifes Subaru today. I have run Firestone Winterforce in the past and they were very good. I think they jumped in price and that had me look into the Generals. POS VETT
I run the cheapest I could find. I bought two new sets last year, the CTS-V has Falken EuroWinter HS-449 & the 350Z has GT Radial Champiro WinterPro HP.
Stretch
Was going to use them but crashed my car before I could get them put on.
Rally Pat
I have AWD and don't need them, but I don't mind having them either.
CRed05
I don't run winter tires. I do however have All-Terrains on the LR3 and that's plenty good.
ForeverMaker
I put steelies with all-seasons on to save my summer wheels from abuse. Once they wear out (which could take several winters) I will get dedicated snow tires. But yea Ohio doesn't get the weather/ I don't drive in areas that justify it. carl1647545492
I do ( because was intrigued to see if they make a difference in a rear wheel drive car) they do and give you that confidence to go wherever but if I had a only a 5 mile commute in the city I would probably think twice. Doc1647545523
My 10th or 11th season on the same set of Michelin X-Ice on a FWD car. Used as intended, I don't think you can beat them. I drove from Delaware to Circleville today on them at 4:00 a.m. without the slightest problem despite sections being ice-covered with snow blowing across. I've driven from Portsmouth Ohio to Delaware Ohio in a level 3 snow emergency with them with no issues (have permit to allow me to drive in level 3 conditions). They've made improvements in the tires since I purchased this set and I'll probably replace them next year with X-Ice 3 tires despite there being plenty of tread left on them. AngryBMW
I bought a truck for winter use so I don't have to drive my fun car in the weather. With that said, I do have a set of blizzaks for the bimmer and when I did use them (for 2 winters) they were perfect. I drove through 17in of snow with them and had zero issues. Turned my traction control off so it wouldn't bog down and hit the gas. I had a great time . -Marc
Bam
Doesn't cost effective or necessary for Ohio and/or my driving. I just run the original tires that came on my car year round.
bmwohio
RWD 5 series....yes, I have Blizzaks. This is the 4th winter I have used them, and they *maybe* look 1/2 used...would buy them again in a heartbeat.
Alex L.
Firestone Winterforce on my S70. I feel like I can go anywhere in the snow with them, the difference between them and my all seasons is phenomenal.
Robochan
My 1990 Miata daily is a snow mobile and does perfect on the Doral All seasons it came with. Its terrible and i hate it.

90G60
Just bought a good set of all-seasons for the Legacy. I was going to buy winters for the CTS-V, but found a good deal on slicks for spring instead. When it gets bad, I just drive the Legacy. Forrest Gump 9
If you have a rwd vehicle, just weight it down and drive sensible. I drove a Tacoma rwd truck in Ohio winter for two years without any problem.
airwg2189
FWD daily, it's just not worth it in Ohio IMO. We don't get enough snow, and Columbus is pretty damn good about salting.
zeitgeist57
Snow tires cost more than my truck is worth. :fa:
Aaron
Voted how I am running this winter: NO I did with my GTI the last 2.5 winters. Halfway through last winter, I got the R, which with its A/S was better in the snow than the GTI with winters. I'll probably keep these as winters until they need replaced, and migrate back to the winter tire crowd.
Supplicium
Voted NO as im not using them this season, I rocked Eagle ultragrip gw3's http://www.goodyear.com/en-US/tires/eagle-ultragrip-gw-3 on my GTI in past years. Im planning on putting them on the CC next season.
Flyin Miata
Yes, but mostly because I live northeast of Cleveland in the middle of the snow belt.

Ramsey
Not currently, but normally do. Every time it gets shitty out the back end starts to wiggle i regret not getting some. Bought ice grabber things for my boots too.
greg1647545532
Been driving 18 years, never run snow tires, never hit anything or gotten stuck. When I lived in Omaha they would have been nice, but I was only there for 3 winters and I just dealt with it. Ohio isn't as bad. Also, FWD FTW. El Karacho1647545492
Yeah, dropped a wheel size for a little extra sidewall, too. 205/50R17 Goodyear UltraGrip Ice WRT have been fantastic and they were very inexpensive for winter tires. I have 4k miles on them, the fronts are at 11.5/32, rears at 12/32 (they shipped with 12/32). They were great in VT ice/snow, and plowed up my parent's steep driveway that had about 3-4" of untouched powder with no problem.
