TurboRust
Anyone on here fish with big joshy's www.bigjoshyswimbaits.com ? I hear so many good things about them but keep procrastinating on ordering. I finally put in an order today. I bet the ponds would eat these up. anyone that knows me knows i fish a ton and this is my goto lure for fish.. i always have one tied on a pole whether on the bank or in the boat. his color selection kills all other swimbait manufacturers. i have spent well over $200 on his swim baits. but when you catch 30 saugeye in a night on them or 25 small mouth, and fat suspended crappie digest em.. you cant put a price on days like those. i have a full 3700 box of them... I remember reading a lot that you are very into fishing. I had thought for some reason that you didn't fish much for bass for some reason. If you do, or when you do, what is your go to bass colors? Putty
Seldomly. When family or friends have been over, we fish, but I haven't done too many invites. Moved here last year and have been working on and trying to enjoy the pond. It went 7 years with no attention given to it. It had fish in it, but no quality aeration, muck control or food balance. This season should make a big difference to get things right. I have been doing all the planning for 6 weeks on building a solar powered aeration system with submersible pump. The stocking from last year, and now this year, I'm hoping to see a huge difference for activity in the pond next season. That's cool. Hope things work our for you with the work you're doing. You guys should have some luck it looks like. hopefully! It's hard to plan this so far out with as many guys as we have but it looks like we got a little lucky & should have a good chance at getting some fish. Plus we'll be camping near bluegraass island so we can spend more time in the water. We'll be running bottom bouncers with various colored floating jig heads..hopefully i can report back with what were having luck with. I think that's where we're going to camp at. I think there are 10 of us and 2 campers going so we'll be loaded down. What worries me is the state park with all the rules and BS that usually come with them.

I asked the same thing & apparently in the past years they've had no issues. People are there to fish at sunrise so I'd assume most are turning in before 11p. Hopefully, if we keep down the noise and dont have any obvious open containers, we should be ok.

Sturg1647545502
So we got totally skunked at the walleye run d/t all the rain. The river was up EIGHT FEET & running twice as fast as it normally does. Bluegrass island was inaccessible and mostly under water & the high water fishing areas were flooded out too. Access was extremely limited but we were able to wade into one spot On the map the area between the between the foot path( that you can faintly see not the obvious white path) & river was flooded...in some spots too deep to wade. But it was all in vein. Nothing was biting & spent most of our time dodging big pieces of debris or re-tieing line. It was bad weather, nothing we could have done differently. Our fishing trip quickly turned into a camping trip. Friday was on & off rain all day & the wind was gusting up to 40mph. Saturday & Sunday were sunny, warm & generally beautiful. http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk57/snowdoc83/3c3e1aab-83c0-4873-906c-ff56329b4b44_zps32c509e8.png?t=1396824029
xlr8tn
I saw that the river had turned nasty for you guys. Sorry to hear that. What did the lake look like? You get a chance to go look at it? Looks like some rain early this week but nothing after Monday or Tuesday so that should give the river time to fall. We really won't even be in the river much I don't think. We'll be fishing the mouth of it from boats so the lake condition will be the most important. I'll have back up beer just in case.
Sturg1647545502
No didnt make it up to the mouth of the lake. The river was already dropping today when we left so i hope it returns to good conditions for you next week.
SRTurbo04
Any one fish alum creek ? I need to get my jetski out of storage up there and put the jet ski in the water on the docks for the summer and I have been too lazy to drive up to check if the lake is still frozen over not. If you have been up there and maybe near the marina are the docks in yet? (long shot big figured ide ask) Edited April 7, 2014 by Paul

TurboRust
nice, i've only had one bass in this pond around that size joe.. for flavor i've been adding some pet saugeye in there and hopefully thin out the dink blue gills.. its got a great population of dog food fed 8-9" gills right now and I think they kinda run the pond.. most the bass look anorexic and capped around the 12-14" range
