bicranium
Some marketing coord at a Casino tweeted that he has "sources" that Nebraska will announce Tressel as their next head coach this Saturday That guy is also from Nebraska, used to cover sports for an Omaha news station. Dustin Fox has come out again and said 100% confirmed Tressel is not going to Nebraska. I wouldn't be surprised to find out later that Fox knew Tressel was going there but wanted to keep downplaying it to make the actual announcement matter. Dr. Pomade
Why the hell not. I've been wrong about MSU, indiana and minnesota. Hopefully my mighty badgers will prevail I like your style. Everyone, if Ohio State pulls through for us, then we'll be all be able to drink and toast jive. And, by jive, I mean me.

airwg2189
You mad bro ? A JT Barrett OSU would wipe the floor with Alabama in the playoffs. Especially in Pasedena. Yep, I went there. Your Tide have barely scrapped by in every FBS game they've played except for 1, and they turned out to be a garbage team anyway. You guys are literally a handful of plays away from being a three loss team (LSU and Arkansas) and not even worthy of being talked about. The fact that you guys are ranked 1 just reeks of ESPN SEC bias, and everyone knows it. Alabama isn't BAD, but they're going to get absolutely destroyed in the playoff, mark my word. Oregon is the team to beat right now. You mad bro ?

Orion
Jim Rome is on twitter, taking in the reaction of Nebrasks Fan at the news of the new hire. The best answer I've seen so far; @jimrome for an OSU fan, it's like hearing your dad just left your mom for a supermodel. #mikeriley #reaction LOL
bicranium
Since were 0 and 2 so far for decent hires by big time programs. Pffft... speak for yourself... From page 12 of this thread... Been reading McElwain ends up at Florida. Riley isn't a terrible hire at Nebraska. Comparing his records at Oregon State to Pelini's at Nebraska is not going to work. Oregon State is a program that would fall in a tier somewhere between Minnesota/Iowa and Illinois/Northwestern. Think of it this way... throw Boise State into the Pac 10 and see if they put up the records Riley put up at Oregon State. Similar budgets and recruiting capabilities. Now Riley will have top notch facilities and a real budget to work with. The one thing I was surprised with was how old he is. Already 61. And Kyle Dodson is gone from OSU. Haven't read about a transfer or if he's just off the team but been expecting that one since the weekend. Another scholarship open. And Warinner has been offered the Kansas job. Really, really, really hope OSU can hold onto him for a little longer.
Orion
Pffft... speak for yourself... From page 12 of this thread... I said "decent". Riley will not be an upgrade at Nebraska, you can quote me on that. God, PLEASE let Warriner stay.
LJ
Oregon State is a program that would fall in a tier somewhere between Minnesota/Iowa and Illinois/Northwestern Iowa has averaged 7.7 Wins per season for the past 7 years Northwestern 7.1 Riley- 6.5 Pelini 9.

Dr. Pomade
LOL at Nebraska and Florida. Both those hires are yawns. Florida is considered by many to be a top 5 job. Especially laughable is Nebraska, who just fired a coach that consistently won 9 games a year (and just won his last game) and was under substantial scrutiny to justify Pelini's firing with a quality hire. LJ
I think Florida's hire is ok Nebraska is definitely LOL
DaddyBuiltRacing
Dodson leaving doesn't surprise me, I still think his recruiting anouncment is one of my all time favorites. I hope Warriner doesn't leave
2 Sweet
As a lifelong Florida fan, I am 100% satisfied with the McElwain hire. He's the guy I wanted all along. I'm glad they didn't try and go after a "big name" hire just to impress the casual football fan. I've looked at McElwain a lot over the past couple months and I really couldn't be happier. I think he was the best available candidate and easily the best fit.
Dr. Pomade
Then I stand corrected. Only one LOL then, which is Nebraska. Or maybe I will give Nebraska both LOL's - they probably deserved 2 of them.
