TimTaylor751647545500
Thanks again to Greg for finding this house! We closed July 18th and have been knee-deep in projects since we moved it. I just wrapped up a kickass dining room table right in time for us to host Thanksgiving. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=919&pictureid=7930 Attached garage is 28' x 28' with 9'6" ceilings. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=919&pictureid=7931 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=919&pictureid=7932 Great workbench and storage cabinets, but they're all getting torn out because they were constructed out of MDF and moisture got to them all, so they've swelled and developed mildew. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=919&pictureid=7933 Getting the workbenches, welding table, fridge and garage stereo set up. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=919&pictureid=7934 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=919&pictureid=7935 My 4'x8' main workbench/assembly table that I built for the cornhole boards pretty much gets swallowed up in this space. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=919&pictureid=7936 I'm hoping to do an acid stain application on the garage floor next year along with giving the walls a fresh coat of paint. But the next addition is a heater. :fuckyeah:
SRTurbo04
Loving the garage man! Whats the time frame if ever for a driveway? Black top or concrete? God thats a awesome property, looks like alot of nice healthy trees too.
TimTaylor751647545500
No plan for the driveway in the foreseeable future honestly. We'll see how this winter goes and let that determine if I change my mind on that though. There were exactly 101 trees on 1.48 acres till I did some trimming with my new Stihl MS170 (funny the new tools you have to buy when you move out of town). Not Brian
I'm contemplating a Johnstown move myself. How do you like the area so far? Houses seem relatively cheap there and I've heard traffic is bearable.. which here on the east side, it isn't.
TimTaylor751647545500
We're really enjoying it so far. Not a ton of local options regarding dining and activities, but all of that is only 15 minutes away, so we don't mind. Plus, that was kinda the point for us. Mojoe
Congrats. The place looks great. Having some space to yourself is nice. We have a few acres, but there is always something that needs done. I had 3 trees fall from the winds last week. If you are on a well, there is always something to do, from shocking it to replacing a pressure tank. If you don't have a home generator, Look into it. I would go at least 20k if you have electric heat and water heater. .
TimTaylor751647545500
Uploaded a few shots of the dining room table I built. The wood is tongue and groove flooring from an old farm house that was salvaged. Ripped off the T&G, installed pocket holes, and glued and clamped the boards together, then added 6 coats of shellac. The table measures 98" x 45" and seats 10. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=919&pictureid=7938 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=919&pictureid=7939 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=919&pictureid=7940 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=919&pictureid=7941 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=919&pictureid=7942 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=919&pictureid=7943 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=919&pictureid=7944 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=919&pictureid=7945 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=919&pictureid=7946

mrs.cos
Do you think your woodworking skills will stretch quite a bit with this new garage?
TimTaylor751647545500
Hoping so. I've already added a number of new woodworking tools including a wood lathe to turn table legs and misc other items. Just have to get everything set up in it's own spot. 10phone2
god lord I didn't realize you had that much garage space when we talked. Must be nice and good luck with the new place.
Not Brian
Now all you need is a sweet project car parked in there instead of Hondas to put those work benches to use
TimTaylor751647545500
god lord I didn't realize you had that much garage space when we talked. Must be nice and good luck with the new place. Ha...yeah, really. We kinda lucked out with this place. The attached is 28'x28' with a separate 24' x 16' boat garage (or barn as we call it) with connecting 22' x 16' one car. The "barn" is unfinished with a gravel floor and front & rear barn doors for drive-thru parking. This space has a lot of potential as the roof trusses are nearly 12'. The one car has a concrete floor and also is a nice space that we are using for lawn equipment and misc storage. Neither of these spaces have electric or insulation as of now. Now all you need is a sweet project car parked in there instead of Hondas to put those work benches to use Sooner or later there will be. At least now, I have a dedicated space where I can continue work on my bike project (that has been pretty much ignored for the last couple of years). No fear though, those benches get lots of use as it is. Edited December 2, 2014 by TimTaylor75
