SRTurbo04
Today is flag day, who here has a flag up during the year? Lets see your setup. Any one have any neighbors that try to give you crap? Almost every house on my block sports one. Mines 6+ feet long. I actually need to mount it higher up. SRTurbo04
Fly 24 hours Will probably take down for winter though.
cstmg8
So you're supposed to illuminate it if flown after sunset right? I need to get a setup for our current house.
SRTurbo04
So you're supposed to illuminate it if flown after sunset right? I need to get a setup for our current house. "The federal flag code says the universal custom is to display the U.S. flag from sunrise to sunset on buildings and stationary flagstaffs in the open, but when a patriotic effect is desired the flag may be displayed 24-hours a day if properly illuminated during the hours of darkness." Yes your technically supposed to, im sure most dont. My House lights illuminate it enough though.
SpaceGhost
We have up lighting right below the flag. Flown 24 hrs a day.
Snowflake
We have up lighting right below the flag. Flown 24 hrs a day. Is it a light that requires 120v or is it have a solar powered one? If solar powered how is the light output?
SpaceGhost
Is it a light that requires 120v or is it have a solar powered one? If solar powered how is the light output? It is one of 7 different lights that plug in, came with the landscaping when we built the house. Wires are underground. Both front pear trees, and the 3 posts on the porch have lights and 2 walkway lights. It runs off 110v and comes on with a light sensor. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/06/14/3a2190e8cc7dc1a19a0e3262711b302f.jpg
Snowflake
Looks good! Ive been wanting to change up from 120v to some solar but i want to see/hear how well hay are doing with putpit through the night. Yard lights make a world of difference in looks on a house. I cut in can light in the soffits around the house. Looks pretty good...
SpaceGhost
Looked better before they put the street light up, we did not know it was there until after we closed and moved in. (It wasn't installed)

TTQ B4U
There are five of us in a Row with Flags up right now. Should have got a shot of it but I just saw this thread. We have landscape lights and a can light that shines right up on it. Also with the porch and two garage lights, the whole outside is like a well lit football game a night http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj84/crms3er/flag_zpsbyurk4oq.jpg Adding in a shot of today's double rainbow just because.....The second one is in the top to the right. Didn't notice it until I got it up on the computer screen. http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj84/crms3er/IMG_5293%20copy%20web_zpsrijmjkwx.jpg

DKilbourne
My wife's birthday is today, so I plant my flag pole every year on flag day....does that count
LJ
Fly ours 24 hours a day March-Nov. Take it down in the winter just to save the flag from the weather. Got a nice aluminum pole, so much nicer than the wood ones. Now that we changed our landscaping I can finally move it to the proper side of the door. Not sure why anyone's neighbors would give them any crap
TimTaylor751647545500
I have a light on the outside of the garage that shines on ours at night which you can see in the picture.
