Back in a VAGina

Picked up this Passat wagon two months back. Perfect exterior and minor wear in the interior. Two owner and all major maintence had been done recently. I got a great deal on it as the cam chain tensioner was not working properly. It had a ton of chain slap. Seemed like an easy fix so I pulled the trigger on it. It's a 2001.5 AWM engine with no sludge.

The CCT turned out to be a major pain in the ass. It took three R&R's to get it set and timed properly. But I finally got it and while I was there swapped out the half moon gasket and all pcv pipes and hoses.

After I got that done I started working on refreshing every Bing else before modding it. New map sensor, forge DV, APR turbo I let pipe, 3" stainless test pipe cat delete, new downpipe , GIAC stage X plus tune for 93, new car hoses and DV hooked up directly to intake manifold (n249 delete). Also threw on my enkei 18x8's. So far it's a blast to drive after the tune. I had H&R cup kit but sold it because it didn't go low enough. I'll pick up some coilovers after winter and slam it. Plans are to find some S6 seats to swap in and have the roof wrapped in either carbon or gloss black.

I also picked up the very last votex front lip brand new in the box from VW. Will have it painted and installed in the spring. It's the lower half of the bumper on this wagon and what I'm shooting for looks wise.

We've seen your A3. You can't be serious.

Am I ever serious?

I should add, I actually really like the wagon, including the color. I just think vinyl roofs on anything but a 60's muscle car look ghey.

P.S. no vinyl anywhere on my A3. It's also looking particularly eurotrash lately since the wife hit something on her way back from cincy and took out the lower lip, right fake vent, and the undertray, and MAG ripped the wing off in their car wash.

so you didn't learn your lesson from the Audi?

It looks like he at least learned to wait until after it was "fixed" to make a thread on this one, as opposed to making a thread about what a great deal it will be, easy to fix, great flip, etc. on day 1 then updating with weekly fails.
