Literally the second sentence under the title of the Article...

Yes, I understand that, but if someone can get down there could they not be excavated? I mean, with today's equipment and knowledge, why can't they be dug out?

Would rock the white car with the MUO 124R plates..

Unsure if that is a older Yota or potentially a Mazda (Other??)

Pass on the Lotus Elite type 75 (Yuck)

Agreed still a cool article and would be cool to visit if close and half way around the world.

Not a single one of those cars is rare, valuable, or hard to replace in nice condition for $5000 in todays money. It is so not worth it to excavate what I have to imagine is 1000s of tons of rubble.

The most interesting one though is this:

That's an AMC pacer. In Liverpool England. In the 70's. Which was probably really expensive to import new. Let that sink in for a minute.

That's a pretty neat place to have a shop. I bet you couldn't get permits to have an automotive shop underground these days, even if some engineers ensured no cave-ins, the chemicals and gases would ensure how bad of an idea that is. Still a cool shop in my opinion.

Is that the orange one? I like the styling of that one.
