Thanks for all the comments. Responses to some of the questions...

Amazing looking car. I just looked on cars.com and these seem to be a great buy considering what they cost new. What's the hidden problem? Are they reliable?

I have been reading up on these for a while now and a few things to look out for...

1) Sway bar end links 2) Nav screen motor can go out and 3) the V8s can have vibration issues at certain RPMs due to the downpipe and some other exhaust bits. There is a TSB out for it and Audi is replacing them under warranty.

Pretty reliable overall. Haven't even seen much from high mile owners. That said I personally wouldn't buy one unless it had some sort of warranty left.

Thinking the air ride will probably require maintenance down the line but I will probably won't keep it that long to ever see real high miles.

Very fine car. I like these better than the BMW 7-series, and I've owned both. I'm thinking it just needs some Rally stickers. :)

Definitely the car for a rally! Was envious of Doc's plush rides on previous trips. Comfort is more of a factor as I get older.

You should rent out some of that trunk space for the local mafia. Or you could make a few $$ driving Uber Black and do your best impression of Jason Statham.

Surprisingly small trunk for the size of car. I guarantee the new gen coming out will have that addressed.

420hp pushing 4,500lbs.. I'd definitely be modding that thing a bit. Looks super comfy though.

Yea the tune that puts it at 545hp/629tq should be sufficient although even stock might surprise you. I could see in a few years stepping up to a S8.

Daddy like.

It looks like the majority of these are the 3.0T...if you got it for anything around 50k I think you did good. Very nice man.

Yes, most of the A8s you see are the 6-cylinder. Perfectly fine for just getting around. On the other end you can find the W12s floating around. :megusta:

Great to hear from you, Ryan!

Clay, hey we need to catch up sometime!

Beutiful car, mind if I ask what it set you back? unless you mentioned that and I didnt see it.

Im not a fan of wood trim but that actually looks pretty nice against black leather. I get the performance advantages to a chip and tune but aren't you worried about voiding the warranty?

Depreciation on these is around 50% after a few years! Around $50k for a decent example. The V6s will be less and probably the better deal. Ehhh most cars I void my warranty. :)

edit: forgot to add... you REALLY need the window sticker when pricing these out. 90% of the ones listed online left stuff out or were incorrect.

Do you have a chauffeur?

Yes. Me.

Long time no see sir, how you and the family are doing well. New car is SWEET! hope you enjoy it.

Paul.. hey man another person I gotta catch up with! All is well just been busy. How goes it with you?

Is that at the crank? I have about 550 in a ~3800lb car and it needs more. Guess we all do.

629 tq should be all he needs. Keep in mind it is a fast 4 door not a muscle car.

I agree with you though, in a Camaro 550 is not enough - we are so spoiled.

these motors can make 800tq on race gas. talk about straigt up nuts. my rs7 has 4400lbs to move and has zero issues doing this stock, let alone with 93 octane tune. honestly, it feels faster than my GTR, which is a flex fuel car. these cars are obviously awd, which means they launch hard as well. sweet ride

Lower front valance had some road rash that kind of gets magnified when wrapped. Would probably skip doing that next time unless brand new.

Up next is tint and finish correcting the rest of the car.
