evan9381 Posted May 21, 2019 Report Share Posted May 21, 2019 I have a 2009 Legacy that I think I'm about done with. I've dropped some cash on it recently and I'm just done chasing issues. I had leaky CV boots, fixed those. Then it needed tires, replaced those. Then I fixed the leaking rack. now it's leaking oil, and my buddy said it looks to be the head gaskets. Being that this is a ~10 hour labor job, he said he'd rather just swap a whole new motor...either way I'm looking at a minimum of $1500, and I think at that point, I'd rather just buy a new car. I still drive the car daily, so it's not like it's dead in the water. I just check the oil level every 1k miles or so and add 1/2qt or so. Body has some dents/dings, nothing major. TPMS light is on. new tires, new rack, new front brakes in the last 6-9 months I believe. What say you on the value of this thing?
