No lead to my knowledge. But if I start feeling sick continually I'll know why.

Brand new they are around $1600-$1700 includes fees for IMPORTING

I paid $1000

and much to the astonishment of those who found out last night. Get 120mpg

Not bad for 1000 bucks. The gas mileage is sweet too.

did you pay more for your gear than your bike?

seriously tho', a G is not a bad investment for a bike that gets 120mpg even if you did get lead poisoning. Just don't try and eat the bike and I'm pretty sure you'll be fine.

--WHOA! rear drum? bummer. imo anyhow.

--35W seems awfully low (assuming a typical bulb), how is night riding?

--The front looks like a familiar size, but the rear..that looks difficult to find..maybe its just me though.

-- not trying to offend, just saying.

I had $1500 to spend when i bought my first (and unfortunately current) bike 3 years ago. I looked long an hard at the zongshen. Not terrible to look at, but i couldnt get over the ~70mph top speed. I knew i wanted a good learning bike, but i needed it to be on the highway daily. I ended up with my 500.

Im sure it handles well though. I have heard stories of some things rusting fairly quickly (bolts, nuts, misc hardware). is there any truth to this? What is your opinion of the bike, and have you ridden other bikes yet?

Properly adjusted, a lost art it seems, a drum isn't bad for normal street riding.

As a bonus they always work in the rain, unlike a wet disc the first time or two.

198 kilograms = 436.515279 pounds bike.

The light does sound a bit low, 35w/35w?

What, no high beam? 30/35 is prolly more like it

Mine seems dim and it's a 55w/60w. (Aftermarket)

Night riding is a bit different. I have wonderful vision at night so the amount of light it puts out is plenty for me. I actually have taken to running it on high beam to increase other cars being able to see me. It's not bright enough to blind em just enough to see me better. And still no ticket for it.

ride what you ride......don't worry bout it.

I know, and I do. I really love how some will try to look down their nose at it or make jokes. I simply remind them... 120mpg, I laugh every time I pass a gas station. Never take it serious, I'm up on 2. So I'm good.

It gets you from point A to B and you have fun it's all that matters. :)

:plus1:

you could be right, the torque is only 16 ft lbs... maybe I was wrong, I can't find the hp listed anywhere online, just torque

edit* 31 Hp, booyah coooking with gas!

Wow! I think the previous Nninja 250's were rated around 35 Hp!

I do have to agree with the 70 MPH top speed being a bit limiting, even though it is more than the LEGAL speed limit in Ohio. It's not so much that it will go faster, it CAN go faster, more that you have some in reserve than anything!

But yeah, ride what you ride, and are happy with! Reading about 120 MPG makes me a bit sad about my 60 - 70 MPG on the ninja 250!
