Joe Barton of Texas, said the current Bowl Championship Series is unfair and won’t change unless prompted by Congress.But some lawmakers on the subcommittee said Congress has better things to do than legislating on college football.Please tell me I'm not alone in thinking they have better things to do.... I don't think it's something that the Congress of The United States of America should be dealing with. How about working on getting rid of some of the debt? Here's an idea.... It has never screwed Ohio State and this year it almost put UC in the National Championship game which for them would NEVER been attainable through a playoff system imo. Although there is a good playoff system that combines it with BCS bowl style stuff that I have come up with that I wouldn't mind seeing. Colleges get money based on their sports as well as academics. The big colleges are the only ones that can really win the BCS, therefore the only colleges that really get a ton of money are the big ones.Additionally, all these venues advertise the NATIONAL CHAMPION but it's not a fair process.Either way, I don't agree with legislature on this petty of a thing, just presenting both sides. If these kids are going to be making millions for the colleges shouldn't they be paid? They have a talent that is worth millions but jeopardize it playing for a college for free or a 160k education. Don't get me started on not giving scholarships to those producing the most revenue for the schools. Making it fair for the girl’s volleyball team to get scholarships has made it unfair for those who actually contribute to the college making money. The whole system is fucked up, so what, congress has no business managing it. DC should be doing their jobs, national defense and infrastructure.
