Tough as nails and the shifter area has an extra protective cover. Also, buckles and other parts are easy to replace when needed - just call Thor and they send them ASAP, no questions asked. Only reason I know this is that I've had a buckle melt off on me crossing AZ into CA - 119°F can do that to a boot. That's really the only problem I've had with them after 40,000 miles.
