What does 70,000ft into the sky look like?

James May of Top Gear gets to fly into a U2 spyplane at an altitude of 70,000ft, thats 13.3 miles. Really amazing. The first minute is just them driving to the aircraft.

Yea, looks safe enough. He mentioned that at the altitude they were at, 95% of Earth's atmosphere was below them. It's got to have a hell of a wing to work at that height! OK, i'd go!

Yes yes, Don is being a car whore again. But I think this shit is sooo cool. The U2 needs to be followed by vehicles to talk it down to the runway. They used to use old open header El Caminos and other vehicles. The latest chase cars are Chevy Camaro Z28s and GTOs. This extension to the first video above explains it.
