mrbret
Can you fit 2 average sport bike side by side (and still have them strapped down) in a long bed pick up?

rockybalboa
Depends on the truck. Anything full size should be just fine. I have made trips to flordia with two bikes in a shortbed superduty and a shortbed chevy. With both trucksI was able to shut the tailgate. The bikes were GSXR600 and ZX-10. mrbret
I'm thinking of something like a Ford F-150 / 250 for Dodge Ram 1500/2500that king of size, Not like a Ford Ranger.

Dweezel
Can you fit 2 average sport bike side by side (and still have them strapped down) in a long bed pick up?well if it's a long bed it's not a stepside Dually maybe, but no way in hell it's a stepside unless it's a total custom jobbie. mrbret
I dont need the straps & stuff right now. I'm just thinking ahead. I want to get a truck & think it would be nice & easy to put the bikes in it if/when we go away etc. (Dragon tail, Daytona, Sturgis who knows)Thanks for the offers though. Zorro
You should be fine if you have something in the middle to tie off on. I "was" going to put two bikes in my truck (dodge 1500) but I didnt have a tie-down in the center. I didnt feel like modifying my truck to add one. Dweezel
you tie the two bikes together, then strap the out sides to the bed rails.
Angrish
I have a 06 f-150 I've put 2 bikes in it a few times. Worked like a champ plus I have the 56" bed 4 door. (trailers are better) IMO.
Zorro
you tie the two bikes together, then strap the out sides to the bed rails.Or you could do that. However, that seems a little scary...unless my bike wouldnt be included
Dweezel
Done it before, tie the triples together so the bikes sit a bit apart, then tie the outside fork to each bedside, repeat with the rear. takes 2 people to do but they can't go anywhere once there strapped in. redkow97
^ i've never tried that, but it sounds like it would work.Anyone ever put one bike in forward and the other in backward? I'm asking because I do have a Ranger, and the bed is quite a bit smaller. But then again, so is my bike. I'd be looking to move two 500s or a 500 and a 250.P.S., anyone with a hitch can rent a Uhaul motorcycle trailer for $15/day. That only holds one bike. their 5x8 trailer can only hold 580 lbs (or should)so for $15, you can put ONE in the bed and one on the trailer if 2 in the bed makes you particularly nervous... mrbret
As long as its not flair sidesWhy not a Flair Side? Is the bed to narrow?
Chrome
yup takes about 8-10 inches out of the bed width.(each side)
Dweezel
I don't see why it wouldn't fit seeing as how the bikes are between the wheel wells anyways.
mrbret
Thats what I thought. On the TSBR site this was one reply to:I fit my 929rr and 1100xx in my 1993 s-10 short bedI would think a F-150 Flare Side would be at least a wide as a S10
