Something of that nature but not as beat.

I got a set of Magnepan MG12s mint condition with the boxes and manuals. They are white with black trim. I will part with them for $700. http://www.magnepan.com/.

I also like the Klipsch Reference Series:

Those are too "baller" for me right now. I just need something better than computer speakers with a little bass for my snoopy D-O-x2G ya dig.

Thank you though.

I have a couple out back, I think they're JVC. They are older, and I need to check them out to make sure they still work, if you're interested. I have little use for them, I have a pair of 16 or so year old Infinity SM115's that I paid through the nose for!

I got my standing Klipsch F-1s for $99 each on woot.com awhile back. Doubt youll see that deal again.

Polks (forgot which model) go on sale every now and then at frys.com for about $70 a piece. Good decent beginner speakers.

There are deals to be found if youre not in a rush. Keep an eye here http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/hot-deals/ for hot deals that come up.

I normally get all my stuff through vanns.com for a really good price.

Looking for some floor speakers in GOOD shape. Nothing that's a crappy brand.

Shoot me a PM.

Thanks.

It doesn't say no shitty brands anywhere. From what I've read review wise on them they are not a bad speaker. I'm not looking to drop 500 dollars on some floor speakers.

Cerwins are good for makin loud noise, for sure, but that's about it.

I'm not looking for a complete bad ass home audio system either. I have 30 dollar speakers right now.

I've been offered some KLH, Cerwin, Technic and I think that's about it.

Looking at Polks and Klipsch but I don't know I want to spend 300 on speakers and another 100 on a decent used receiver.

Please, be my guest and point me in the right direction.

The right direction and your wallet are opponents in this match. If you want something that will go boom and piss off the neighbors if you so choose, the brands listed there will do that just fine.

Do you have a receiver to push whichever speakers you get?

No I don't have the receiver.

Money truly isn't a concern, but I prefer not to spend 500 dollars plus on a set up. Again, I have 30 dollar computer speakers right now so I'm just looking for something that puts out some good treble and bass and can handle some louder volume.

I don't need the macdaddy floor speakers on the market. If I found some Polks or Klipschs for a good deal I'd gladly scoop them up.

I'm looking at getting an Onkyo receiver.

Did you check vanns.com? Search thru audio floor standing speakers. Pair of new sony's for about 130 shipped.

I dont have experience with them but the reviews are great for all those speakers for the price. obviously they dont perform like a pair of reference klipsch. I would say price is the determinant since they range from $130-$215. I would go with the cheaper dual-sub speaker and save the extra money for a better receiver. Since youre already in the low range of speakers the extra $100 in a receiver I think would be the better option.

sony sucks for audio unless you get into the high end stuff.

yamaha, pioneer, onkyo, denon are where it's at for entry level receivers.

I agree with this. But RF is looking for fairly cheap. If he's looking at Cerwins for his mains then I think a sony receiver is fine for him.

Its not like hes running paradigms or something.

until the sony shits the bed just doing what it's supposed to do. His buddy's $80 onkyo would probably be the best investment

I've seen some cheaper speakers/receivers on http://www.audioadvisor.com/.

The Athena LS-300 which are (supposedly) regular $250 each for $200/pair. The only problem I see with these is that they don't have the low bass that you need for the Snoop Dogg. (Although specification wise they still have comparable bass to the Sonys (38hz versus 35hz).)

I've never heard the Parasound, but according to the reviews it seems impressive for $260. It's a "factory-refreshed" unit, and that's why it's $100 cheaper than normal.

But if you truly want to rock out on a budget, headphones are the way to go. Although, I currently own Sennheisers, I've owned a few Grados, and they are the best headphone for your buck. I've had non-audiophile friends put the Grados on and say, "Wow, I've never heard anything sound that good." They will truly open your eyes (and ears), and let you hear all the music that you're not hearing through your computer speakers or ipod ear buds.

Good luck with your search.
