Radio Flyer
Me and a buddy are planning on going on a good ride this weekend. We don't have a destination and that's where OR comes in.He gets off work at 4 on Saturday so we planned on leaving as soon as he's off and heading to some twisty roads. WV or Kentucky work but I'm open to anything that will be fun. We'd ride Saturday and find a cheap place to stay Sat night. Preferably a place with something to do around the area. Then wake up Sunday morning and ride most of that day then be home sometime Sunday. Any help/ suggestions on roads to take?

LINK
Route 2 through New Martinsville, WV to route 7 E to Hundred, WV 250 N to Moundsville then back, or stay in Moundsville or Glen Dale WV., I paid $42.50 for a night at Havens Inn in Glen Dale Route 2, just a place to crash, nothing fancy.Wheeling, WV is just North of there too, if you want some clubs or something to do at night.Ride back the next day and hit OH 556, 260, 255, and 26.536 & 555 were still closed last weekend.260 S to 565 E to 145 S to 564 N (or E?) brings you almost to Caldwell, OH (I 77) route 78, not a bad ride, 565 was getting new pavement so there was a center lip last weekend. I would say both lanes will be finished by this coming weekend? If you take this route you will miss some good parts of 260 though. If you follow 145 S you pick up 821 S to Marietta.Okay I will stop, I can go on and on with the roads, enjoy your ride. KhaoticRebel
Take 250 in West Virginia. You won't regret it.
600ZZ4eb
Take 250 in West Virginia. You won't regret it. Ditto that! Just dont take 70 to get there unless you want to die of boredom...trust me. Get to 78 and take it East till u hit 260 South and then 7 east and cross over to WV...i believe 7 connects with 250 - go north and hit 70, go S and have a good time. :-) You'll just have to find your way back, but i'm sure it will be fun. :-) Edited August 11, 2010 by 600ZZ4eb
Radio Flyer
I've been on 250 before and it's a fun route for sure.260 I've been looking at taking for a bit now. Heard it's a great road.
LINK
If you have not taken 260 yet, you might want to.This past Saturday, another guy and myself rode it South to Route 7, and it seemed we were practically the only ones on the road until the end, very few vehicles along the way, and it was the same on Sunday when I rode it myself. thebussman
i don't know man it's not looking good on the tires, 2 weeks until they come in is the last I've heard. i'm liking this route:Route 2 through New Martinsville, WV to route 7 E to Hundred, WV 250 N to Moundsville then back, or stay in Moundsville or Glen Dale WV., I paid $42.50 for a night at Havens Inn in Glen Dale Route 2, just a place to crash, nothing fancy.Wheeling, WV is just North of there too, if you want some clubs or something to do at night.Ride back the next day and hit OH 556, 260, 255, and 26.536 & 555 were still closed last weekend.260 S to 565 E to 145 S to 564 N (or E?) brings you almost to Caldwell, OH (I 77) route 78, not a bad ride, 565 was getting new pavement so there was a center lip last weekend. LINK
How about 78 E to 260 S to 537 E to 26 N to 800 S onto 255 E to OH 7 S back to 260 N to 565 W to 145 S to 564 W back to 78, just a suggestion.Only about 115 miles, but a good ride, except 78 to 260 & 7 back to 260.
