I haven't hit up Craigslist yet mainly because I don't like Craigslist. I would like to get him a 50 or 80cc bike with an auto clutch. I'm looking for a used one because he is going to crash anyways. Also kids out grow em so people should have them to sell. I want to stay under 500bucks probably closer to 300. Yamaha makes some TTR options too, but the electric start is frustrating when the battery doesn't hold a charge and there's no kicker.Not sure how big a 7 year old is, but I would guess a 70 would probably be the best fit for now.These things hold their value too, sure kids outgrow them but there are always new kids, and these things are pretty bulletproof. I echo the TTR issues as we had one as a pit bike and for my oldest son and the battery issue sucked donkey nuts. KLX110 is a bit of a stretch for a new rider, but nothing seriously big. I'd really stick with the 50 as it can be modded to fit bigger. The issue you have is that the 7-ish age range is just starting to fit into that KLX110 or KX/RM 65 size range. Unfortunately, you are boarder line, but getting an XR/CRF 50 will allow you to not get hurt when you go to sell it if they need to step up.CRF70 is a good choice, but poor resale as more people want either a 50 or a 110. The 70 ends up having to sell at 50 prices and if you can get one for that, grab it. Would be best in size, but not much smaller than a 110. 110s have a better resale bracket... Steve Butters Posted November 17, 2010 Report Share Posted November 17, 2010 (edited) oh and ive got a PW80 that ide let go too...same story on it, was ridden awhile then parked and wouldnt start....we got it fired up on the 4th of july and rode it around the yard a little bit, and it was smokin like a freight train lol but it ran...may need some oil flushed through it a few times, or may need rebuilt...hell if i know...found pics....the pw would be like $150 though if ya wanted itone of the two has a cracked clutch cover...but nothing jb weld wont fixprices are obo - and ide have to have them approved also, since i dont actually own these...but if anyones interested, shoot me an offerprobably able to sell both bikes together for 200 Edited November 17, 2010 by Steve Butters Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Well taken care of. all stock (many stickers, but will come off)2) Suzuki LT80 Got from previouos empoyer where purchased as new. 2 stroke 80cc, throttle control by screw. (good for kids don'at know what he is doing at beginning) Tires kind of used (low tread) but my kids were riding around yard no problem. Also have XR100 but maybe too big.
