I have had a Hi Point 45, 40, & 9mm and will buy them again and would put it up against any of the ones you are talking about. When cleaning one put the slide in open postion and spray brake cleaner through the entire gun until it runs clear. as soon as it drys do the same thing over with WD40. I have sent them back when I have bought them used (costs &4.00 shipping) and they replace any worn part and give you a new clip for your trouble. keep them clean and they will cycle through with the best of them. I pay an average of $75.00 for used ones.

Clip? Is that so you can clip it to your pants? Gansta's love those clips.

Rule of thumb with firearms especially if you are going to use them to protect your life is buy once, cry once. Spend that extra money up front because you will end up spending it later.

I may have to buy a used hipoint just to put it through some stress testing. (AKA.. Beat the living shit out of it. )

I actually like the idea of a HiPoint as a first gun. Then, when the OP wants moar (inevitable) he'll get something nicer and be SUPER appreciative -- "Ohh , this is how a real gun is supposed to weigh, shoot, and feel."

It's like when you go from that first POS Pinto your parents gave you, and get a new WRX. The POS-ness of the Pinto wasn't evident until you got the WRX.

So long as you are doing it to be a shithead' date=' and not because you're fucking retarded... I'm cool with it.[/quote']

Absolutely. I don't think I've ever heard "clip" in my life outside of Warren G's "Regulate". I just understand what someone is referring to when I read it in context on the internets, and I know it is inevitable that someone else will come along and chide them for using it, citing "gangsta" connotations.

On a side note, upon googling "16 in the clip and one in the hole" in order to find out what that song was called and who sang it, I found an excellent resource that explains rap lyrics for stereotypical white people. Here is the link to the phrase in question: http://rapgenius.com/8792

Although I don't necessarily agree that we can infer the safety status of the weapon from these lyrics, this site appears to be a wiki so perhaps someone who cares can "Suggest an improvement."

Excellent point. I actually loved my 1985.5 Ford Escort L. Good thing it spontaneously combusted before I spent any money "modding" it. On the other end most of my initial gun purchases have been higher-end, and I'm sort of disappointed in all of them.

Very valid point. Although mine was a Sentra, not a Pinto. I thought that car was a pretty sweet ride in the beginning.

Or you could get a Kel-Tec, I love my little p-32. My dad had the p-3AT and loves his as well. You could find a used P-11/PF-9 fairly cheap if you really want a 9mm. I wouldn't mind having a used Hi-Point just to see how "bad" they really are...some people swear by the things. If you are looking for a gun to carry i would also stay away from the Hi-Point just due to the size of it. Good luck with whatever you buy, safe shooting!!

Agreed. Kel-tec PF-9 single stacker is $270 @ Vances/Buckeye outdoors. I've shot it. Nice, concealable 9mm. My brother has the .380. Nice gun as well and even smaller.

Bikers are sometimes just as dumb as they come.... I believe most of you missed the point and really like to pick at my choice of words (CLIP). call it a mag or a roll of toilet paper... the point you missed it is not what I read or what I've heard it is what I have owned and they worked very well when they are clean and lubed.... I choose not to carry one because of size but they are great to spread through out your residence for protection..... keep it interesting....

I'm sorry' date=' I didn't read your post. Did you call a magazine a "clip", or something?[/quote']

Im sure his post was aimed at me. Yes I commented on clip vs magazine because well,..... its a magazine and not a clip. Sorry if the correct terminology offends you but I am a firm believer in correcting someone so that they dont say something potentially stupid to someone that may be their boss or could affect certain aspects of their life. My correction is meant to help you and nothing more. If you take offense to learning the correct terminology for something then you have bigger issues to overcome. Just ask the people here how many times I have typed fast and had to be corrected for using the word your when I should have been using you're. I now make a conscious effort to better myself and do my best to make sure I use the correct verbiage so I dont look/sound like a grammatically challenged dipshit.

FYI vintage rider, if you feel the need to group people that ride into groups that you suggest, and I quote "are just as dumb as they come" you're (notice the correct verbiage) more then welcome to leave the board and not post here anymore.
