Yeah I swim in lakes/ponds, but a treated pool? If I couldnt see the bottom heck no. Similar thing happened in my neighborhood growing up. House had an inground pool, 2 yr old was playing by it, fell in. Pool water was green from algae etc, basically it was worse than a pond. They found the kid a few minutes later, never knew if he made it but guessing now as they moved out a few months later.

PS They were total white trash.

If it was the deep end then yes. I've been on a drowning and done water rescue classes. In the normal 10 to 12 foot diving area of a pool you will not see a body on the bottom of a treated chlorinated pool from pool side. That was the hardest part of our rescue class, actually finding the training dummy

yeah that is true, it is def hard to see something on the bottom unless you are directly above it.

I used to have a pool and it was a pain to keep clean. But I would never get in the pool if I couldn't see the bottom.

Sure, you can't see the bottom of lakes etc, but you don't go in them barefoot. At least I don't. Don't fancy having a broken bottle jammed in my foot.

They weren't total white trash! They had an in -ground "cement pond!!" that's a fixing of the big life.
