For sale threads - my thoughts...

...as if anyone gives a damn what I think...

Some other forum I'm on has a rule that won't allow the sort of actions that have been occurring here with regularity - might be the Sig forum, those guys are Nazi's... ***edit - it's one of the Ruger forums.

- If you're not genuinely interested in buying the item that's for sale, keep your mouth shut.

- If you think the seller is charging too much for something, keep your mouth shut.

- If you think all <insert whatever> suck, keep your mouth shut.

- If you have one of what the seller is selling and like it, speak up.

- If the seller wants to know why they can't sell their item, speak up.

- The (by now) seemingly obligatory "LBTS, GLWS" is fine, imho, and provides a free ttt bump for the seller.

Basically, don't shit in someone's for sale thread, just (un)common courtesy.

My $0.022 worth.

so if we like it speak up, but if not then dont say anything?

so any review a person reads will be positive, even if the majority thinks its a piece of shit

buyer buys it and then hates it for being a piece of shit and then have to sell it and take a loss on it

all because of your shitty system

whats next? you going to go to all the local elementary schools and start burning the books?

you suck, sir.

:D

I agree with all of it. I don't usually comment on an item unless I honestly like it. If a potential buyer asks a question regarding quality and such, and I can answer, I send them a PM with my comments rather than shit on the thread.

When I think the item is priced too high, I use a method, (think I stole it from a member here), I just post GLWS(Good Luck With Sale) instead of shitting on the thread. UNLESS... the OP asks why his 5 year old "like new" box of shit that's priced the same as a brand new box of shit isn't selling. THEN I take the gloves off.

Now if someone is selling a helmet that has been involved in a crash, and there are visible signs or I know it to be the case, I will abso-FUCKING-lutely shit all over that thread.

"I hate this place, Casper just makes up his own rules and has babies while Moderators are free to have illicit carnal relations with the common members and then delete all the posts about it before they leave."

if you guys aren't careful, I'm gonna delete my account...

If you have personally seen the item in question, and can vouch for it's condition, whether it matches the poster's description or not, would you be allowed to post?

Ain't my forum, and I'm not a mod, do whatever you want.

My thought: "I've seen Porter's bikes, and he always keeps them in GREAT condition" is helpful.

If you know that Porter's bike is rashed on the right side, and he didn't bother to take a picture of that side, and also failed to mention it, then send a PM.

No need to call someone out in public until, and only if you know for a fact that the seller is misrepresenting something. If they don't amend their post in response to your PM, by all means call 'em out.

Again, common courtesy should be your guide.

I haven't made up any rules. :( And I didn't have babies, it's Kawi Kid's. Haven't you read the posts?

And that moderator deleting things was taken care of as soon as someone pointed out to me what she'd done. Most of the threads are still there in Ranting and Raving though.

Found this in the archives while doing some pre-upgrade cleaning, figured I'd move it here.

For the record, when we found out NinjaChick was deleting stuff we removed her as a mod.

You all should really stop and think before you start accusing the wrong people.

There are more. Feel free to look.

By the way, nice to see you on here again. Been a while. I still have a swingarm for you. :)

Seriously though, if there's enough interest in setting up something like this, we can definitely put it to a vote and see what the majority wants. I'm not opposed to it at all. I do agree it's just common courtesy.

I always thought you and KawiKid had enough of a similar physique to pull off the ol' bait-and-switch with the misses...

I was being completely facetious. I just wanted to drudge up quality ORdN dirty laundry for no good reason. I actually offer nothing positive to the community as a whole. I'm just a more useless Todd#43.

Yea...that is getting a bit silly. Any idea what it would cost to ship it, since I'm clearly incapable of accomplishing even the smallest task of driving to Columbus?

bowdog, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

  1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
  2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

I can't see them :dunno: :dunno:

I figured, but it's been brought up before so I figured I'd post the links. :)

Probably more than it's worth. Would you be opposed to picking it up from my parents? I could have them take it home with them next time they're in town. I think they're coming this weekend actually. They live on the North side in a suburb, but I'm having a brainfart and can't remember where. LOL.

Expect me to whine, bitch, moan and complain if you enact more rules.

If someone does something inappropriate don't the usually get admonished enough by the masses to make them stop?

As a professional engineer, I can officially declare that 19% error completely negligible.

Besides, it's not really the height she cares about.

I would certainly do that if you were ok with it, but it still seems like putting a lot of the travel on you.
