Hello from Cleveland

Figured I'd say "Hi" since I've been checking out the forum for the last few days. I'm new to Ohio, but not new to riding. Picked up a 2001 GSXR 600 around 05, first motorcycle I ever sat on. Recently picked up another 600, this time an 05 GSXR.

Found the site while looking for some twisty roads around the Cleveland area. :nono: Looks like it will be a bit of a commute to get to any fun roads. I guess I was spoiled living in central Pa.

I'm planning on doing a couple track days this summer; trying to figure out all the details at this point. Probably heading over to Iron Pony tomorrow to see if I can find a suit. Would have preferred to ride down, but who knows what all I may want to pick up while there :D

Hello! Yup, you do need to ride a bit to get to any nice roads if you live up north. There are some down south around Millersburg/Coschocton area and also in around the Bath/Fairlawn area. If my husband and I only have few hours, we go to Bath. If we have 5 hours we'll usually go down to Coschocton.

Welcome!

Hi everyone!

:welcomeor: where are you doing trackdays at? Make sure you check out motoseries.

Considering Nelson Ledges, Beaver Run, and Mid Ohio at the moment. I'm thinking a couple between those two, then maybe a road trip to something further away if the funds are available. I'm trying to get the guys I work with interested as well, but a few have newer bikes and are really worried about laying them down. I've got my 01 in pieces right now, was thinking of building a track bike out of it, but for the cost of parts+a new frame(tucked & cracked neck) I think I'd be better off buying one.

Welcome. What part of Cleveland?

Middlburg Hts. The best twisties I've found around are on/off ramps :wtf: lol

Went through the metroparks once on my 01....saw two cops/rangers right off the bat, so I pulled on the choke, clicked into sixth and didnt even use the throttle the rest of the way.

Anyway, off to Iron Pony, hopefully I can at least figure out some suit sizing while I'm there.

I work in Middleburg Hts. The valley has nice turns but way too many cops and too much traffic. As you go further southeast, it gets a little better but not by much.

If you can ever make it to Putnam Park in Indiana, you won't be sorry. Great track. Beaver is super tight (and short). Mid-Ohio is nice. The back straight is long. VIR is also a blast but probably a good 9 hour drive.

Ryan, you're right around the corner from a few of us.

Bum a ride out to Nelson for the April round, and just talk to people at the track. Or stop by when/if the "fix your bodywork in my garage" party happens this weekend. a bunch of us are prepping for this season, and we jump at the opportunity to talk about riding pretty much any time we're off the bike...
