Cop took my gun during traffic stop

TBH I would rather minimize the handling of a permit holder's gun. "Where is it?" "Thank you now please do not reach for or touch it for any reason." The less a loaded gun is handled, especially if they are nervous the better. IMHO I believe if they have a permit and notify, there is less chance of them shooting an officer compared to the person that doesn't have a permit and doesn't notify.

No disrespect to the LEO on here but what are cops good for besides tickets? They never get there before a crime has happened and the criminal has fled, Besides earning revenue for the state or city by tickets what do they do? (besides go to calls in da hood to stop guys beating their wives) With the exception of maybe one or two LEO I have met most seem to have a power trip ego. Not my cup of tea, to serve and protect seems to be a thing of the past. Mostly seems to be to ticket and harass as of late.

This past week I:

Wrote 0 people for speed, stop sign, etc...

Wrote 11 people for driving under license suspension...

Responded to a reported robbery in progress and had to go in with just one other guy and a 14" shotgun...

Charged 4 people with disorderly conduct for engaging in fights in the street...

Investigated a child porn case and secured a search warrant, looking at charging under state code for numerous pandering related felonies...

Responded to a burglary in progress (while off duty, getting the above search warrant signed)...

Responded to 2 or 3 domestic violence calls... arrested one...

Arrested 5 people on warrants...

Unlocked 7 or 8 people's cars for them...

Gave directions to countless people...

Performed over 4 hours of foot patrol...

Handled 2 unruly juvenile calls and played social worker and daddy...

Offered advice to numerous people who came in to the office with general non criminal questions...

Handled 4 child custody disputes...

Sat stationary at numerous locations in response to citizen's complaints about speeders and reckless drivers...

Assisted another local agency with checking numerous areas for a kidnapping suspect from another state who had 2 kids he had abducted...

Recovered a stolen car and arrested the person in possession of it...

And attended the city council meeting where they cheerfully discussed laying me off since the city is broke....

So, yeah, fuck you. Cops do nothing but write bullshit tickets.

As stated you are not in a large city. And maybe you are a good cop? I have yet to see any response to the east cleveland area? They suck, And so does some of the surrounding areas. In the burbs, or the sticks i am sure there are a few good men. But in the city good luck finding them.

How so?I know it sucks big time but other then that? Oh what the amount of dirty cops in east cleveland and the areas around it? Hell the mayor of east cleveland was busted for smoking crack!

Thats what i mean. The NEO LEOs mentality is quite different from the rest of the LEOs in Ohio. I don't know why they are... it only takes a couple bad cops to give all cops a bad name. No different than punks on sportbikes to gives all motorcycles a bad name.

And remember a cop can't know a crime is gonna happen beforehand and there can't be a cop everywhere. Its sucks but most policing is reactive and there aren't a lit of ways around that.

A cop gives a ticket for someone breaking the law, its his fault and he's evil. He gives someone a warning for something that could have been ticketed, he's a great guy.

Would you like a cookie? Or donut?

Now be a good lil piggy and find out who drank my fucking powerade the other day so I can rip them a new asshole.

J/k, but seriously who cares? I thought about becoming a cop, but Jesus, all the bullshit they have to go through everyday, although who likes their job anyhow :dunno:

I'm in NEO... and actually my opinion of the LE here is that it is about 15 years behind the times. "The times" being central Ohio. I've worked in both areas and this is by far a more rough and tumble way of policing, but it's what the citizens expect and even demand. There are always going to be regional differences in LE, what works for Beverly Hills ain't gonna work in Baltimore.

Speedytriple: I have yet to meet a "dirty cop", in fact, I'm not really sure what the definition of that is. What do East Cleveland cops do that makes them such cocksuckers and / or dirty, exactly? Links are appreciated, ideally ones describing the actions of the entire department or at least the majority of the department, to corroborate your statement.

That's fucking epic. Fepic, if you will. No one has ever made a donut reference to a cop before. I think you have ushered in a whole new era of comedy. Someday, people will look back on your post, and say "this, this was the day that the comedy scene changed forever".

Just being an asshole but if "south of Philly" means New Philadelphia then that is hardly the NEO they are talking about. And I can back up the east Cleveland sentiments from personal experience however it was only the actions of a few not all

Some cop(not a random cop, but one I know well) apparently had nothing better to do than wait for someone(prob me :dunno: ) to come back to their bike(my bike) because it was in handicap parking(with a handicap review mirror tag hanging on the bars) I guess he felt stupid when he found out it was my dad(who is buds with his partner)... I think thats pretty dirty, that fucker always pulls me over, even if im doing nothing wrong.

I used to give him shit back in the day, guess he never got over it... Dude needs to grow up...

Now as for you, have you discovered who took my powerade yet? Thats $1.79 down the drain, if you dont take care of it I guess ill be forced to file an offical police report

P.s. The donut jokes never get old ;)
