I have no idea what these craps dealers (can't speak for anything else, didn't/couldn't sit down anywhere else) have been doing for the last however many weeks their training was, but 80% of the croupiers there were missing bets, putting bets on wrong numbers, not paying out bets, paying them out to the wrong people, or most egregious of all, pulling bets when they should be paid out. In the span of 2.5 hours, I literally had all these things happen to me, as well as croupiers and pit bosses taking 5 minutes to figure out how much to pay out a single bet, a croupier shuffling a active bet stack of chips around a number, holding up the entire table until she could figure out where to put itAny other craps players out there, I'd hold off at least a month or so before you give it a go. They've had however long to get a grip on this stuff, and even with all that time they still managed to break almost every single rule out there with regard to handling a bettor's chips. It's not like they've only been on the job for a week, they've had weeks of training to ramp up to this. I'm sorry, but you don't fuck with my money while I'm playing. You had to tell them what to do and even who won. It's like they were charity cases from the local MRDD or something. I made a snarky comment to the manager in passing and he said, "It's only their second day, give them time." I also heard since it's the first casino in the area, no one in the area is skilled. I happen to know several skilled people that were rejected based on "personality" or whatever. I expected whoever got hired at least new how to play the game - I didn't expect them to let these people learn during live action. It seems to have gotten better since, or maybe I've just been lucky in the rotation. There are some experienced professionals in there, I guess I just expected them all to be. And yet another friend is so skilled at blackjack he'd do well walking in cold. Shoot, I'd probably do ok at dealing blackjack without any training. But you're right, they probably wouldn't hire him (or me). I think I'll ask him if he would try for a job there for fun.Are these full time jobs? If not, the labor pool is limited to the unemployed, retirees, and not much else.edit: And do they have enough dealers to relieve those that get rattled? I think not. Swapping out a dealer is common. And the positions were full time with benefits. Required an FBI background check and a credit check. Kid looked like he was 12 and could not do simple math. After my friend's hot rolls, we quickly left. Table mins everywhere were ridiculously high considering the crowd. Blackjack dealers were absolutely horrible. When I got dirty looks for doubling down on 8-3 while the dealer showed a 3...he's absolutely idiotic. Roulette was even worse. It took nearly 5 minutes per spin. That place had potential, but the dealers and staff are horrendous. Thurman's for the first time was a plus tho. All of them couldn't do the math necessary to effectively do their jobs to save their lives.You got dirty looks from the DEALER when you doubled down on 11? Jesus. But we spend much more for dinner at the final take restaurant. Good food but a little light on portions although you'd never know there was a bustling casino right outside the door. We only played slots as none of the party were big gamblers. When we did ask the concierge for help and information they seemed very confused and frustrated the kiosk was still broken and were out of casino brochures. Slow shuffling, dealing, basic math, etc. Can't imagine the craps dealers with everything they need to keep track of, lol. Only good thing was I won 250.00. All they have is their own side of the table to contend with.I'm willing to give some concessions to slow card dealing as that's not something that's learned overnight. Dealers practice that shit for years, and they've had maybe a month. But the blatant and repeated math errors and pulling the bets when they should be paid out, that's something I can't get over.I'm planning on giving them a few weeks then going back (because I'm a lush and like craps), preferably during non-peak hours if nothing else than to see if the table minimums were lowered.
