flounder
So heres the deal. My mother just won a Browning Maxus 3" chamber, Ducks Unlimited 75th anniversary limited edition at a raffle. Lucky her. I see them selling between $1600-$2200So the question is, Use it, or keep it locked up in a safe. Personal opinion is that while its a beautiful piece, I would probably use it. Im not a fan of safe queens unless they are super, super rare. Any feedback.Pics.
TSB67
I would sell it and buy one without the cheesy engraving to use.
Gump
Sweet! Keep it in the safe, bring it out for clays, not hunting. You're out nothing. Sell it when you're old or really need the dough. I'll give you a $1000 Edited October 15, 2012 by Gump
flounder
Selling it for 1500-2200 isnt much especially for a nice shotgun so I would be inclined to use it as designed. Besides, the regular Maxus sells for 1600-1800 so other than the ducks unlimited engraving, there doesnt appear to be anything special about it. So Im leaning towards using it, depending on what she decides she wants to do with it since its hers. .
MidgetTodd
I don't like fancy impractical guns either. No point in safe queens
vf1000ride
I would shoot the gun and enjoy it. I have a Browning Gold series sporting clays gun that was made back in 1996 and I love that gun. Yours is a very similar design and should be a very reliable gun. bowdog
I would use, whats the point of having it if you dont shoot it?!?!?Actually on the other hand i think I would sell to an OR member!! flounder
Well it looks like it will be in my possession around Christmas time when my Dad comes back. Ill be shooting it FYI.. Probably wont take it Rabbit hunting in thick briars or anything but would definitely use it for field rabbit / bird. I have another one I can use in thick brush without fear of beating up too bad. Edited October 15, 2012 by flounder
scottb
Sweet Shotgun. I would still use it, but only on nice days. It could be your "Sunday" gun. I have 2 Ducks Unlimited shotguns, but not that nice. One is an 887 used for turkey hunting, and then a Stoger Condor for clays. Purchased from a guy who won them in a raffle. Helmutt
I'd show it off at some trap shoots. But like you're saying, play around with it safely. Even lightly used I'd expect it holds some value over a standard model since its a ltd production right? May be able to trade or sell it off in 20 years for more than its worth now. Serialed at what? 546 or 548? Hard to tell in the pic. Either way, nice freebie!!
