In this political election season, I implore you, the good (and not so good) people of OR, to bring back the social backbone of our little community. Please bring back CBRGirl (our spiritual leader), Yota (our bike night maestro) and Moose (the hostess with the mostest). Since these 3 important members have gone AWOL, OR's social world (non-virtual gatherings) have decreased dramatically to blowing shit up at Todd's (which is a blast) and a few Shallowtail shows (which I havent been too due to distance and guaranteed drunkeness). Lets bring these fun kids back into the fold so that we can have fun social events, bike nights and parties at the extremely accommodating KoC. Make your vote count kids.

Yup. They are officially watching 675 from the plane now...Right around exit 2 on Northbound, just after the Dayton mall, I saw a line of troopers on the right. One of them pulled out and pointed at me... The pilot must have been having a good day though, because I am pretty sure I was going faster than the 81mph he clocked me at... Twas light traffic so I kept my speed up. While I was waiting on the nice lady to look me up, I saw another one of them pulling over somebody else. We are sitting ducks from the sky! But on my ticket, she wrote Suzuki... I wonder, does anybody know if you can get away without paying, or getting points if they put you in/on the wrong vehicle?

I like the fact that highway patrols can't do u-turns in the median. But. the first thing I thought of when I saw them was police state (watch?v=zPJQ4C8V2hc at www.youtube.com/). With all the cameras everywhere, all we need now is a way to corral people to prevent them from escaping. I guess once the interstate medians are done they will be installed along the sides. I think eventually they will be installed along the sides of less traveled highways.

I have a rather enlightening (most would say "crazy") theory about speeding... speed limits are basically "public protection" laws; or so they claim - we all know they're just revenue generators. But to that point, most speed limits were set in the 1960's or 1970's when cars weighed a ton and braked like boats. due to safety improvements, the weights probably aren't much lower now than they were then, but improved tire technology, ABS, and even the greater adoption of disk brakes means that cars are STOPPING in shorter distances than ever before. I don't htink it's illogical to conclude that speed limits could (and should) be raised to reflect the advancements in automotive technology. to take it one step further, I'd even to so far as to say that vehicles could be certified to achieve X mph (tires already are). So if you're in a vette, you can do 120 safely. If yo're in a mini-van, only 80 (i'm betting a 2010 van stops in a shorter distance than an 80's firebird. seriously). I acknowledge the inherent difficulties in enforcing such a system, but I think it's worth looking into. We're not far from the day that law enforcement can scan our plates like a bar-code from 300 yards out; I'm sure they could figure out when someone's exceeding the maximum safe speed for their particular vehicle. /conspiracy theory rant...

I don't think anyone is saying they think bullying is ok, but that the bullied are taking their response to a whole new level. Bullying sucks but it happens, it will never stop, however kids being so weak and over emotional to think that suicide is a logical way to make it end, can stop. Stop raising kids to be pussies and think that everyone has to care about their feelings. The world is harsh cold and mean get used to it, no one gives a shit about your feelings, get over it. I really have a hard time understanding why anyone let alone a child would commit suicide. Suicide is a selfish act of weakness. Darwin wins again.

just a question kinda of curious , just finished a 06 busa sunday and the guy brought over a power commander 3 , new brooks full exhaust , new trees, corbin seat , and i just had all the skins and rims painted . bike looks sweet but i tried to explain to him that he could not use a pc3 for his bike cause it was carberated . if yours fuel injected !! and what year is it ?

Wow...there are so many ignorant statements in this thread that I don't even know where to start. As a father, I hope that any of you making statements about these "weak kids" never has a child that is picked on. The whole essence of them being children is that they are weak. That is why it is our job as parents to protect them and guide them to being good people in life. As a school administrator for a K-8 school I see bullying on a daily basis, and it absolutely disgusts me. Our children and students are exposed to so much more, and are expected to be able to tolerate and understand concepts and situations that far exceed their cognitive development. Dealing with this is the worst part of my job. Parents of bullies do not accept that their child is a bully. Some think it is acceptable, even funny. Regardless of view point, if you think it's ok to bully someone else I hope that you take a minute to reevaluate it. It is always easier to pass judgment upon others than to understand. To all the children who have been literally bullied to death or even to the thought of it, my prayers go out to them.
