  1. some of you guys make me want to make me quit the internet...

  2. Wow... First of all, it isn't as easy as anyone here probably thinks. I laugh as I sit at the races and hear these ass clowns tell everyone they could run just as fast as the last place guy. Riiiiiiiiight... First of all, there are things that aren't going to pop up in your regional track day. Things like the spark plug issue happens to everyone and isn't due to shit workmanship. Maybe it is. Maybe it wasn't. Who really gives a shit? Brandon knows my feelings on this ordeal and I think he is doing what each and every guy that owns a sportbike "thinks" they can do or what they wanna do someday. He gets that chance and made the show. First, you must make it. He did. Then, you must race and finish. He had some bad luck. But, will be back today and probably be fine. ANY of you - including Ped have zero input in regards to this as you've never been at this level nor been around it. Shit happens. Always does. If it were easy and smooth, everyone could do it... They cannot. Good luck to Brandon and be safe. All you other guys, just be supportive. I'm not a guy that makes threads to drive attention, but we should be supportive of a local guy doing good like Justin, Worbel and Kerr. All four guys are Ohio boys and are doing well. That should be the focus. Not about AFJ vs ORD, etc. Your personal opinions are fine and I support everyone saying what they want. But, when it comes to the race side of things, like Ped stated, unless you've done it, unless you've been around it outside of a fan and spectator, you have no idea. None. Be nice or simply shut up. Oh, and a final note... To the guy that stated something to the thought that the class is not the "good" racers? The kids at the top and really, in the top ten are all solid racers. In fact, the kid in 2nd place is going to probably be the next big thing and he is only 16. I can promise that no matter how billy bad ass anyone on here thinks they are, that kid will wipe the track with your ass and never break a sweat. I have had the honor to have been waxed by him and I can say that he is an amazing rider... Keep Jake Lewis in the back of your mind as you will be hearing it later in years to come... Also, to the comment that "if he cannot cut, he can't cut it"... He qualified. That's cutting it. Again, if I hear anymore shit from anyone that say the last place guy doesn't deserve to be there or they think they could make the field - I challenge you at any time you feel like you can pull the times, we get you to Mid-Ohio and I will get it set to allow for an open and clean track and give you the same amount of time these guys get to get the times needed. I can promise, you will not get it done. Even with zero excuses and the cleanest and best scenario to getting the fastest lap times... ijs. Good luck, Brandon. Live the dream, buddy and make it happen. Good luck today!

  4. Last nite I made it home from an 1827 mile ride. My oldest daughter was graduating US Army Airborne school and with her being a second generation paratrooper and Special Ops Command and fifth generation Army, I felt the pull to go down and pin her jump wings. My ride started about noon Wendsday. After my late start I made it to South Carolina day 1. The weather hit in WV on the way down and I pushed threw it and the bike ran great. Extra gear and mods to the bike worked out well. One of my fuel stops on the way... My morning of day 2 started with reloading the bike, chain maitanence and coffee. I got in Columbus Georgia Thursday about 2 pm, rode round the post some and the kids last jump, that was schedualed Wendsday, postponed to Thursday, got kicked back again due to weather. New plan was kid was jumping Friday and would grad on Fryar Drop Zone inside Alabama. Due to this change I grabbed a room and waited till the AM. Friday weather sucked too. I was on the drop zone by 09:30. I did pass an old Slick on the way and it looked like a great photo op... No rain but low ceiling. Aircraft due to be loded at 10 am were pushed back to after 3. This allowed my old paratrooper ass to crash out a bit. Finally the bird started dropping the paratrooper students on their final jump. Not to long and the kid was hauling her grear back to the AA. One all the class was on the DZ, they collected their gear and graduated on the drop zone. This was pretty awesome. The company commander called out all parents or grandparents who were Airborne and had us form oup on him. Then he ordered all second and third generation paratroopers to fall out of formation and fall in on their family members. I was able to pin the kid on Fryar Drop Zone with my Blood Wings from 21 years ago. That was worth the ride right there. We were WARNED that NO BLOOD WINGS were to be given due to Pentigon policy (the old school Vietnam Vet next to me said to his grandson "wait till be get away and you'll get real wings." (this mission was accomplished back at the company area near the towers out of eyeshot by MANY of us older guys to the new troopers) We broke off from there and back to Jump School at main post. Kid out proccess the school and get ready to fly back to FT Bragg. I cruised about main post a bit. Had to take a few pictures while I waited for her to clear. We hung out for a little while, accompished our Blood Wing detail out of sight of any instructors and she made faces at my camera. She was of to the airport and I was off on the bike. At this time it was near 8pm and I made it to north GA and grabed a $40 motel. My long haul back Satuday was slammed with rain and cold starting in Virginia. But all and all I survived and it was well worth it. Poor weather and all. Great ride that covered parts of Ohio, PA, West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee, North and South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama. The bike ran great. Chain required maits on the way of course, tires got air once, The Perrelli Angel ST's were great and only one wheel skid on the rear pulling in a lot in the rain in SC one cold nite. Yeah, my ass hurts some but not all that bad. Left front turn indicator and clock and trip memory also took a dump on the way and will need attention. But for a hard pushed trip in bad weather, I'll take it.

  5. Duane some people don't get it. You have said you support him and I don't think you are bashing so fuck em. Hell the guy said you aren't well versed but he couldn't even explain the laps on the race. Heck, I don't even have a motorcycle and caught that mistake.

  6. So were the Mayans right? It seems to odd to be just a coincidence. Seems mighty suspicious to me.

  13. I said I am not a guy that starts threads to drive attention. Driving attention to what he is doing isn't being an attention whore or starving for attention... Guys start threads to promote things they are doing in terms of racing, what they are building, etc. I start threads once in a while of things I am doing because I am proud of the end result or sometimes I post threads that show new paint, etc. Those are driving attention to the bike and my projects. I think there is nothing wrong with starting threads about what you are racing or what you are going to do. I just don't do that with my racing and stuff... I probably made that come out wrong when I posted it, but by no means feel Brandon is starving for attention... He is looking for support and there's nothing wrong with that...

  14. And this os about gun control but still relevant: The issue is that we don't hold people accountable for their actions. We allow excuses and have become so soft that people don't learn from their mistakes. We allow people to get off nearly scott free and so they do it again and again. Then they pass this off to their kids and the kids grow up learning that is not their fault but everyone else's.

  15. I know it had to be awesome to pin the wings on your daughter. My Dad pinned on mine and we did the blood wings right there on the DZ back in '92. BTW, some of the pictures of the base bring back memories - mostly good ones.

  17. lets get one thing straight KTM-Brian. ANYONE can buy thier way into wera races and get a expert license. so no one here isn't lacking any kind of talent except money and time to do a few races with wera. 2nd. you're no one to talk about talents. you consistantly finish last or close to it in just about any race you did. so you can stop throwing that superior complex you have around on forums. brandon and his crew never ran any kind of impressive lap times. so it's just a hobby for them. if they were serious about the whole thing they would be in race schools etc more than thier track days. and neither do you. so you're just an average joe like the rest of us doing it for fun

  18. Thank you to you and your daughter! Glad you had a safe trip and the bike ran well. Did you do all that on a stock seat??

  19. KTM-Brian hit the nail on the head when he said "This thread was and IS about Brandon...". Brandon started the post looking for attention and for the most part everyone was supportive. In light of the recent events and bashing he does in his own site about OR, does he really think he can start a thread and it is not gonna turn into a bunch of bullcrap? I have seen lots of negative posts about ohioriders.net by junkies including Brandon himself saying he is done with this forum, yet he keeps coming back. Did anyone read about Dishez and his porch parking job and everyone was trying to figure out what they did with his gun? Somebody says it's at ohioriders.net. Cute. It doesn't seem like OR go on the junkies forum and cry if something is said about OR but as soon as a junkie "thinks" something is said on here the tears start flowing. I wish Brandon the best and hope he continues racing.

  21. I hope they choke on the coin they made for over selling the event. Boys sure do have a strong following to pull all those people up from St. Lous area just so they could park their frickin RV-sized trailers horizontal and take up all the space. Anyone get caught up in that 4-5 bike smash-a-roo in T4 the first session of I? Morning sucked and I was having all kinds of fits. New tire on the rear was squirming all over the place for the first two sessions and front decided to start trying to slide out on the left handers and some of the right (T2 & T7) all morning. (yes, I let air out and put air in - Dunlop Q2s) Perfect when half of the 100 guys in I were on warmers and slicks. Well, I finally managed to get the tires heated up (braking a lot harder, riding harder helped), scuffed in and paid a visit to the suspension guys around 2pm. Weather, track and bike all came together for the last two sessions. Granted I was playing in the slow end of the grid, I did start to catch and pass some of the slower guys out there. I found a new line through T8 and I am came away pretty pleased. I went looking for tags but couldn't find you all, though I am sure everyone got a good look at my bike with me riding down the middle of the front straight. Only one with white urinal cakes for sliders. Now, here is where I can use some help and I am going to make another post. I need springs for my forks and rear shock. Dbl-Bonus, my newly rebuilt Penske shock is still leaking fluid. In the Dayton-Cinci-Columus area, where can I take my bike and have springs put into the stock Ducati forks, re-build and spring my rear shock??? I do not have the time, place or equipment to take all that stuff off and send it but I can bring my bike to someone and leave it with them.

  23. A little history might be in order here. The last person to "Split the vote" was Ross Perot. Looking back on his campaign from a historical point of view it seems clear that he had no intention of being elected. He was in fact spending his own cash to ensure a win for the party that was going to do more for his business. A shrewd investment. I also have to point out the last time a candidate won was that was not a democrat or a republican was in 1850 with Millard Fillmore. Having good ideas is a great thing but doesn't get you elected.

  28. Look, it is for cornering. The problem with you is that you are jumbling everything that is being said into a big ol' pot and stirring it. Counter steering can be contradicted when moving slow. You are in your driveway at 5 mph and turn the bars to turn the front wheel to the right, the bike will go right. Counter steering is for cornering. It helps assist the bike to turn also, but overall, for cornering. It is used to initiate a turn of the bike. Turns, corners, apex, etc are all the same idea. This is why you really need to get on a bike like an MX bike and practice. If on an MX bike, you can fall over and not be really in any bad shape. Play bikes work best, but the idea is that you are completely targeted on counter steering. I TOLD YOU THAT YOU SHOULDN'T BE OUT THINKING ABOUT IT. You have done it for years if you have ridden a bicycle. Just understand the principle. Understand means to just grasp the concept. The biggest thing you need to do is practice what is in the MSF course. Watch YouTube, see what they are doing and set that same scenario in an open parking lot and practice. If you target on certain aspects, all you will do is make things worse because you have at about ground zero in terms of experience. It's like talking about trail braking. If you go and focus your attention on trail braking, it is too advanced for what you are capable of. Thus, some of this talk of Twist of the Wrist is a bad idea. There are just too many advanced concepts that a guy like you would try and have some seriously bad results from. BASICS - BASICS - BASICS. YouTube, shut the fuck up here and get out and practice. By the way, I have only seen 1-2 people get the counter steering thing wrong. That's it. There are numerous that got it right. But again, it is something that you really need to get away from thinking about while riding and certainly not something you need to be out practicing. You have a SHIT PILE of things that you need to understand and practice with. Otherwise, better get real familiar with fixing shit as this last event you had is only the beginning. But hey, it ain't no big deal to you, right? Just like speed, man... You got this, yo!

  30. Well, with the exception of swapping out the shorter frame sliders, she's ready for Nelson next Saturday. Buncha thanks for r1crusher for all his help, and to KTM-Brian for some great advice and some goodies! This was a ton of fun over the last couple months, and it was great turning wrenches with a purpose again. From a $1500 junked bike that spent last year in an impound lot to what it is now, I think I did okay. Scoured for deals on various forums, got great deals from Shop Dog Cycles and Riders Discount, and even have a few leftovers that I don't need as spares to sell on ebay to generate a little funds for my track habit! Here are some of her better traits as she sits right now: Full Yosh stainless system w/chopped RS-3 CF can 520 Kit (JT up front, Driven in the back -1/+1) Motion Pro Revolver throttle kit Vortex clip-ons OSF Rear sets Galfer SS front lines So, here's to keeping it upright and in decent shape this season! Really excited to shaking it down at Nelson. I know the suspension needs dialed in , and I will be putting at the bare minimum some springs in the front forks soon. Otherwise, its about just getting better and staying better this year.

  32. Seriously though, there's really no reason to be intimidated, although I know how you feel. I did my first track day last year after riding way too hard on the street for a few years, and it was the best thing I could've done. Sign up for novice/instructional, and they'll teach you everything you need to know about the track from bike prep to the proper lines. Pace will be nice and easy at first and then ramp up to as fast as you're comfortable with. No gridding/race starts at a trackday, you'll just roll out onto the track with your instructor. With three different groups based on skill level, you won't have to be out there with the crazy fast guys. Seriously, it is well worth the money and you'll probably progress more in one day than you can in a year on the street. However, you will get addicted and probably end up spending all your money on track time and the things that come along with it. (I now have a full race season planned this year and a full on track bike, well worth it though) I highly recommend Motoseries, the instructors are great and it has a really laid back, family feel to it. Pretty much anyone out there will be willing to help you out with whatever you need. It will be hard to avoid the gheys that heavily populate Motoseries, however. Just keep your cheeks clenched and don't let them lure you into any of their trailers and you'll be fine! Hit me up if you have any questions.

If I'm not mistaken, you are posting on this forum. If you have such a big problem with how people on here act and what they post why don't you get the fuck out? Stop acting like a fucking clown

  37. Not at all. For the last few years we (and by we I mean primarily but not exclusively Occupy Wall Street) have been SCREAMING that large banks are literally bleeding you (and by you I mean both individuals and small business, but mainly individuals) dry with fees, charges, unnecessary overdrafts, shady processing algorithms, the list goes on and on. All the while, we've been pointing towards an entire market of smaller banks without these fees/charges, who actually give a shit about their customers, some even engage in profit-sharing, offer better rates, and are overall a better experience both on you as a consumer and the local bank. Our response from the conservative (I hate to lump everyone together like this, but let's call a spade a spade here) crowd? Paraphrased, I think it went something like "goddamn socialist hippies!" Now that a large national bank has terminated dealings with a firearms affiliated business, the response from that crowd (just judging from the comments of the article) is now something like OMFG WHAT THE FUCKITY FUCK!1!!1111!! Personally, if it were up to me, Brian Moynihan (CEO of BoA) can eat a super-sized bag of dicks while surrendering half of his profits to the SEC on trading and banking violations on top of all the other bullshit that went down in 2008/09, and that goes double for Citi, Goldman, and all the rest of the bigun's. I merely find it interesting that the people that are blowing up won't move their bank accounts when it's in their own economic self-interest to do so, yet when someone even peripherally touches on their guns, all hell seems to break loose.
