Hi, My names Shaun, I recently heard about CR from a couple OhioLS guys (whos names I promptly forgot, sorry) at the JEGS event on saturday. I'm new to CR but not the automotive hobby, and have lived columbus for 6 years now. (originally from Athens) Enough with the boring stuff..... My ride is a Black 2009 Pontiac G8 GT, with the 6.0L V8 and 6sp auto. The car is currently my dd, but I hope to remedy that soon. Appearance mods are pretty much limited to anything that reduces the amount of chrome on the car and adds to the black, lol. Go mods are mild for the time being, but that is also on the list soon. 1 3/4" pacesetter headers 2.5" w/ Xpipe and flowmaster Axlebacks Spectre Intake Intense racing tune I may have some old pics here at work, but will add some when I get home: My dyno numbers were a little dissapointing, but I'll start another thread about that. I hope to get to the track soon, and hopefully meet some fellow members. I welcome any advice from the many experienced LS guys that I'm sure frequent the forum, and will try to help where I can. Thanks, Shaun2 points

So the wife and I just got back from 2200 miles of down south. We hit Nashville then picked up the Natchez Trace Parkway. Took that all the way to the end in Natchez MS then cut over to New Orleans for a few days. Then slabbed it back home. It was pretty awesome. Except for just as we got to Nashville the weather was awesome. We got real lucky on that part. I am surprised I don't see anyone talking about the Trace. Never seen it mentioned on message boards. Folks should give it a look. 450 miles of 50 mph perfect 2 lane blacktop through a National Park. There is not one single stop sign or light for 450 miles. I only saw two cops, in the Alabama section the whole way. Tons of history stuff to stop and look at..and the road is awesome. Certainly not twisty like the Smokeys but very curvy and hilly. Spent an afternoon in Tupelo, saw some Elvis stuff and an awesome car museum. One of the best I have ever seen. Then of course New Orleans was epic. So a few people may know Alan (QuikAccord) is a man of many talents. I just wanted to give him some props for the decals that he made for me. I needed some new Yamaha emblems and I wanted a larger Batman logo to put on my bike. He did both of these things in a very quik...turnaround. They were done very well. I also know that Oldschoolsdime92 had some Fazer emblems made that are really sharp as well. On top of making a high quality product he had some very good customer service. He called me to clarify exactly what I wanted, which was awesome. Thanks so much Alan! As a side note he has also fixed some of my neighbor's kids iPods that had broken screens for a really fair price and good turn around. Man of many talents. Here are a few pictures of the his product: I would highly recommend hitting him up with a PM if you need any work done. If this isn't the right section please move it1 point

Exactly. Everyone seems to forget that. I roll through there at a VERY fast pace for a cruiser. No one I have taken down there can keep up with me except my buddy on his Duc, and he says he can't believe I go as fast as I do. Still I check my mirrors and there is someone behind me that is faster, there always will be someone like that. What people need to understand is you don't check your mirrors as much on that road, you can't. You have to watch the road, plan your lines..watch for trucks/cars/bikes over the yellow line....So while you may think we are intentionally holding you up we are not, we are riding our ride...pushing ourselves as much as we can. Which means less attention to the mirror. That means you have to wait a turn or two until we notice you and can give your room. Edit: ".....there always will be someone like that....." < that is poorly worded, it just means there is always someone faster......1 point

Hearing loss in motorcyclists: occupational and medicolegal aspects (NIM.GOV article) Noise on a motorcycle that can cause hearing loss comes from a variety of sources on and around the motorcycle. Some of these frequencies can hardly be heard normally, but still cause permanent hearing loss at other frequencies. High speed on a motorcycle can generate enough noise to cause hearing loss, Similar results are seen in noise environments industry wide. Common results of excess noise (particularly above 110db at any frequency): loss of audible signals fatigue headache disequilibrium increased risk of accidents hearing loss1 point

Funny story: got hit by a car a few weeks ago, full gear, couple bruises. The other drivers insurance adjuster shows up last week to take pics of the damage, chin is one big scab, black eye, broken blood vessels in same eye, palms raw etc. He's like 'yeah, I just laid my 74 Harley down last week, left the kick stand down" me: 'were you wearing any gear?' Him: 'nope'. Me: 'that's why your face is all fucked up. I just got hit by a fucking dodge dude, and I'm ok because I'm smart enough to wear the gear' him: 'well lets take some pics of this bike...'1 point

Get out of the city and check out small town dealers. I used to go to C bus to buy cars but the last two I got at my local small town town dealer and found nicer cars for better deals.1 point

I see no problem here. Open carry is legal. If he has a CHL on a bike (vehicle) he's all good. I don't fret if my jacket comes up over my XD while riding. Why should I? Ruin it for the rest of us? How? Was I "ruining it for the rest of us" when a Burger King employee saw me holstered when I changed my shirt in the parking lot before going in? Sorry, I'm legal. Don't even NEED the CHL I was asked if I had. Yes, the dude on the bike did, as a bike is a vehicle and requires a CHL to carry while "in vehicle". But what makes u think he didn't?
