They aren't targeting criminals. They are targeting law abiding citizens that they turned into criminals with some bullshit laws.4 points

The issue is when they start expanding the lists of "illegal owners." On medication for bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, ADHD? So were all the school shooters. Obviously mentally unstable, confiscated. Member of any political movements or organizations that are classified as potential threats to the security of the nation? Obvious threat to national security, confiscated. Ad nauseum. Lots of these new laws aren't dependent on the courts for authorization, and you can start to see a track record of extra-judicial laws and enforcement being ramrodded through the legislature in the interest of "safety." and then everyone else goes, well at least I'm not a CRAZY, or a MILITIA NUT, etc. Until it's too late.3 points

I certainly hope this is the first step. The first step in taking away Mag's right to free speech.3 points

This thread reminds me of some old jobs that I had along time ago, and it makes me sad for our future. I have worked in a union shop, so I understand the union and seniority games. For America to have it's brightest future possible, we all need to be as productive and efficient as possible. There are other countries that are far more hungry than we are as a whole. Our economy will continue to have lackluster growth compared to other more competitive societies unless we do something about it. OP good luck with whatever direction you proceed.2 points

Started on a small project for my sons room. He loves cars and tools, he is getting the corvette toddler bed when his sister arrives in June. I picked this dresser up from a local member, and got to work. Here is a before and after. http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/yy296/rocky31186/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20140305_035647_zps4bhmyksn.jpg http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/yy296/rocky31186/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20140305_040045_zpsmfkj3fhf.jpg1 point

I received a sale book for Cycle Gear in my mail today and was surprised to see that they now have a store in North Olmsted. Did anyone else know about this, or has been out there to see the store yet? I may have to check it out this weekend seeing as it's only 15 minutes away. Just thought I'd pass this info along to other NEO friends.1 point

I got rid all my guns when they proved to not function properly. They never fired at someone in a few years of ownership so i sent them back to their respective manufacturers asking for a refund since they were defective1 point

Part of me is glad I lost all my guns in that unfortunate boating accident years ago, so I will not have to worry about the indignity of confiscation.1 point

Intermediate is the wost group to be in. Stay away. Ride advanced/expert or novice. If forced into I group, give the doucebags plenty of clearance. A good way to do this is to go slow in the straights and let then go clear. Duc riders suck.1 point

And there's not one reliable link posted by op... Yes it coming, but to my knowledge they have not began enforcing any gun confiscation... But the time will come1 point

In the "first place" they bought and owned the guns legally. They aren't making gun owners look bad, ignorant people who make stupid ass comments without even bothering to know what the issue is about are the ones hurting the cause. That is exactly what they are doing. Pass laws requiring registration, turn down a bunch of applications because the state didn't process them fast enough, and then declare it a felony to start arresting people, abusing their rights, and confiscating their firearms. I hope residents of CT fight back and may the streets be red with blood from the crooked ass fucking state government... This country is going to shit real quickly.1 point

Yeah I'd say Triumph Speed Twin for sure. Peashooter exhaust is a dead giveaway. It's postwar, because no pre-war bikes came in that color scheme, and the early models were also a solid front suspension. Wikipedia tells me that your dad's is probably a 47-49, because the headlight changed to a weird-looking "nacelle" in 49, and your dad's is a standard headlight instead.1 point

Mandated insurance is ok but doesn't do much good if there is no punishment for ignoring it. I also think it's a farce that you pay tax on your insurance policy.1 point

The tube forks and the shape of the oil tank lock in the range of years. It appears there were variations in the headlight and headlight braces. Different years or models. Does look like a Triumph Speed Twin 500cc. Somewhere between 1945 and 1955?1 point

The triangle thing you speak of was actually a patent identification plate. I bought a new Bonneville in 1971 while in the service. 1329 dollars out the door. Wife and I had lots of good rides on it. One bike I wish I had back.1 point

Being able to hold you line, be consistent, predictable and not get spooked when passed in a turn are as important if not more important than your lap times when running I or A. IMHO1 point

Good page for high level 529 pros and cons. http://www.petersons.com/college-search/529-plan-pros-cons.aspx The limited investment choices is the part that will push me towards a normal investment account (in my name). Sure the 529 has tax advantages, but we're talking capital gains tax (15% on earnings) not income tax. I'm pretty certain, with wide open investment choices my earnings will be more than 15% higher than the limited choices in a 529. ex. If the 529 returned 9%, I would just have to earn 10.35% (9 * 1.15=10.35) in a standard investment account to offset the tax advantage of the 529. If I do nothing more than pick mutual funds rated 4 or 5 star by Morningstar, it's easy to find funds that have returned over 20% for the last 3 years. If Obama blows up the capital gains tax that could change. YMMV.1 point

The first step? wasn't "background checks" the first step? or was it "felony restrictions"? wait must have been "machine gun bans" what step was the "first step"? i mean isn't the big bitch always "this puts an unnecessary burden on LAW ABIDING CITIZENS" now when they start individually targeting CRIMINALS, that's another affront to your gun rights, too? jesus christ, is anything not infringing on your gun rights?-2 points
