Reservations are set. Leaving late Thursday evening or really early Friday morning, heading back home Monday sometime. I will have my scooter since a spot in the trailer for it opened up when Inya decided to stay at home for some nonsense that sounds like an excuse. Hope to see you all in North Carolina.3 points

Makes no sense to me how someone thinks himself intelligent enough to not believe in God can then throw out all that reasoning and logic only to fall into the pitfall of manmade global warming. The same type of people that are peddlers of religion are peddling man made global warming but seem to have found a way around some peoples defenses for logic. It's sad and I feel sorry for both groups for the same reason.3 points

Bittersweet that my Son graduates from High School on the 24th and then ships out to Ft Benning "Infantry" June 17th......but I am a very proud Papa none the less. He made this decision roughly 2 years ago much to our surprise, especially after he seemed all set to attend Kent State. Anyways.........we will be empty nesters soon, and I hope to spend some quality time with the Wifey.2 points

So here is where I agree with you...I am all for clean water and air and dealing with hazardous material in a responsible way. But a big component of man made Global Warming is fear mongering that is used to channel dollars and sway votes.1 point

Don't know much about bandits because I don't see them often... Are these comparable in power to something like an fz1 or closer to bigger bikes like the xx? Seems like a lot of work to put into a bandit, but if your hp/tq estimates are fairly close, that's a lot more power than I would have expected out of one of these1 point

Pentagon and DOD are also believers in climate change. Yes scientists make mistakes and correct them over time. Religion does not.1 point

Of course, we could have gone a parallel direction to talk about the belief that immunizations cause autism and sexual promiscuity - the majority of those believers are also strongly religious.1 point

I wholeheartedly disagree that 'They Live' is a B movie. That fight scene is a fucking classic.1 point

Yep, with a screwdriver hammer. It was the starwheels on the front drums. They were frozen and the hubs had a lot of mud in them. Cleaned out the hub seals and lubed them, roughened up the shoes and inside of the drum with sandpaper, cleaned out the gunk. I have a good lever now.1 point

Tomato/Tomato Either way..and I did some research on his current worth, he is almost to a billion now....he made his fortune based on the theories he was pushing and the legislation he still had substantial influence over. But it's ok, Obama told us this would stop when he became president. The whole lobbying getting rich after leaving office revolving door thing. Glad that is all cleared up. My post are seeped in sarcasm. Keep that in mind. I hate everyone, so I ridicule them. I am spot on with this one, Al don't give a shit about you, me or the planets fever. He only cares about making money and convincing the left that the right is evil and everyone will die if they don't vote for Dem's. See, if the Dems' win he gets more legislation to make him more money. Oh, and now he is worth more than Mitt Romney. So he is an evil bastard right?1 point

I prefer she has her place, and I have my place. That gives you enough space to miss each other. She can come over, spend the night, or a weekend. But, she has a place to go back to, which is good for when you need to decompress from too much togetherness. It's really like playing a game of cards, anyway. In the beginning, you have a heart and a diamond. In the end, you wish you had a club and a spade.1 point

So a refusal penalty of eternal hell doesn't qualify as coersion? Is yaweh not a governing body?-1 points

I don't believe he actually existed either, but he does certainly exist as a character in a book. Jesus said "And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God." Just as bugs bunny said "what's up doc?"-1 points

Lol at windmills... what exactly are they milling? If the birds are too stupid to not get hit by a rotating mass, maybe they don't deserve to pass on their dna... and the ones who are smart enough not to fly through them will be the ones to breed.-1 points

I don't hate birds, but the birds have to learn to avoid high speed moving objects.-1 points

Wind generators are great, solar is great, tidal generators are great. They generate electricity without burning fossil fuels, or generating radioactive waste, why wouldn't we want to develop this technology? Well if you are making billions off of oil and gas... That's probably a pretty strong motivation.-1 points
-
To protect the environment? Don't you think they would get a lot more money from big oil companies if the research showed that burning fossil fuels actually helped the environment?-1 points
-
There is a lot more money in denying climate change than in accepting it.-1 points

http://www.weather.com/news/science/environment/agreement-manmade-global-warming-20130516 the religious zealots don't have scientific evidence, or peer reviewed research... apples and ancient tales of oranges...-1 points

So you've got a blogger who says the consensus is bunk... How about NASA? http://climate.nasa.gov/scientific-consensus I mean, you can stuff your face in the sand all day, but the evidence is piling on. more and more research has been done, and it's becoming more and more conclusive... Back in 1970 you could say "well the science isn't in yet" but here, in 2014, you're just being disingenuous or pandering.-1 points
-
in 1970 they were missing the climate data we now have for the past 40 years... At that time, the big environmental hazard was the widespread use of CFCs. We banned the use of CFCs and saved our ozone layer. Had we lost the ozone layer, (barring all of the co2 we've dumped into the atmosphere) we would have been looking at another ice age. Just because science is fluid doesn't mean it's wrong. in fact, the very reason it's fluid is the reason I find it so reliable. Constantly adapting to new data.-1 points

Yes, the universe is complex... Given, very very very complex, and inconceivably huge, and nuanced. Science is our best tool currently to understanding it, and through science we have unlocked many many mysteries of the universe. Are there more to unlock? of course. Will we ever understand everything? Probably not Thankfully there are people who dedicate their lives and their careers into understanding small portions of it, so that collectively we understand much much more than we ever have. What is your alternative? "fuck it, it's too complicated" Thankfully there are these patient and diligent individuals toiling away in obscurity, dragging our collective understanding up the mountain of knowledge using the ropes and hooks of science... Maybe there is nothing we can do to avoid our own extinction, but if there are steps we can take to delay it rather than to speed it up, why not? Why not allow a few more generations of human beings enjoy the "supremely agreeable, but generally under-appreciated state known as existence"? (in the words of Bill Bryson).-1 points

Not only that, but if a couple of old rednecks managed to get better fuel economy and more power out of less fuel, you don't think engineers with doctorates in chemical engineering, physics, material science and the like could have replicated the results in the past 40 years? Hmmm? Use your brain man... seriously.-1 points

Injectors use pressure and a nozzle to atomize fuel, Carburetors use a venturi to achieve the same effect.Cmon man, you know engines don't run for shit unless the fuel is atomized and well blended with air.-1 points
