What fun is life without some adventure? We don't need no stinkin' routes.3 points

One nice thing about getting up at 5:30 to go riding all day is not having to do anything with my hair. The helmet takes care of that.3 points

You did good, nice lines through the corners, slowing down ahead of time when you were unsure. You will be fine as you step up the speed which will happen with practice which gives you the confidence to do it. You are a very aware rider, you saw everything that was happening on the freeway long before it happened.2 points

Going to apologize for the long post in advance. Thanks to everyone who helped with inputs on putting this ride together. All the help through this thread really made it run about as smooth as possible. Hopefully, we will continue to learn and improve on each of the major rides that we put together moving forward. Most importantly we had no crashes from any group which is incredible!! I'm glad everyone stayed safe and was able to make it home because that it was it most important. Dizzledan, pleasure meeting you and thanks for taking all the pictures. It made the media side of things a lot easier knowing you had it under control. I wanted to take more video on the drift, but with trying to organize and getting the t-shirts out, I didn't get as much time trying to do that as I would have liked. Isaac's Papa, pleasure meeting you as well. Thanks for being helpful when tracy's hands almost fell off. She looked really sad and you put a nice smile on her face when she needed it. Also thank you for helping mojocho find his way when we got left on the way down lol. Whaler, thanks for the sweep of the group. Sorry I made a few wrong turns but no one went down, most everyone seemed very happy with our pace, and we enjoyed ourselves. Job well done. JSChaf, thanks for leading the NE group down and leading the fast group. I look forward to the next time you can leave me in the dust playing catch up. Was the ticket for speeding or going down the closed bridge on wrong side of the road? I ask, cause I've thought to just romp down that side to avoid the detour. Wolfman1, excellent ride back home. That last stretch of 83 from New Concord to Wooster was very enjoyable. NinjaDoc - Nivin, thanks for making the journey to come visit us with something you created. I'm more than honored to continue helping keep this ride going. Only great things are to come in future Epic Rides. Also thanks for the support with getting this together. It definitely gave me some credibility when you backed some of my ideas, and that was much appreciated. Hellmut/Snot - Thanks for organizing the Dayton group. It made it much easier to organize knowing you would have all your group on the same page. Pleasure meeting you as well. Mojocho - Thanks for not bowling into my bike at the red light of construction and the kind words you sent to me in the PM when you got home. I look forward to the next time we get to ride. To anyone else that I met on the ride, I apologize for not mentioning you by name (calina, cdub, etc.)but it was a pleasure meeting you and hopefully I'll see you at the next group ride or the next Epic Ride in the fall!2 points

I wasn't really comfortable til I was following Pauly. I'm not good at riding with new people and I have followed him before and know what he's gonna do and that he won't get me into trouble. Major reason I don't do group rides that I didn't put together. Which has been years.1 point

Meh. When I rode the route eaely last week I completely blew past the turn for 691. No worries mate.1 point

The Marathon on 78 right next to the IGA. When we have a bigger group, we usually gas up then assemble at the pavilion across the street, by the river.1 point

For feedback purposes, did anyone think of something that we could implement into future rides that would make things much better? I know we tried to group people into sections and I think that went a little better for organizing... I definitely think we need to try and find more leads for the groups... more people are willing to last minute sweep if needed but we had a bit of trouble finding leads for the groups, even at the event. I brought "Hello my name is" stickers, but totally forgot to bring them out. I think that would have been useful for a lot of people who are A) either to shy to introduce themselves B) Reinforcing people's name with username to a face. I met a few people who told me their username and I forgot it 10 minutes later lol...1 point

Did you see that horse practically buck the Amish buggy when we came up on it? The next 4 or 5 buggies after that I shifted up to 5th gear and kept her at 20 mph just so my crossplane didn't freak them out. I think it was still loud. I know a field of sheep took off when we came up on them. That's right boys and girls the R1's Siren song scares women, children, sheep, and Amish horses.1 point

The fuses. The fuses were good. Anyway it was awesome to meet everyone! I had trouble keeping track of people's screen names and there were several people I didn't get to meet. Boooo. Thanks again Helmutt for leading it was a lot of fun, and AJ for pointing out my eaten up sprocket lol.1 point

What.......you did not even go after all that you contributed to this? You need better gear Jack plain and simple, and those temps were temporary. No excuse's if you plan on attending my rally this year, motorcyclists adjust/overcome/conquer/.....git er done old boy!!!!! On a side note, glad to hear the event was a success and that everyone made it home safely!1 point

It's good reading to go along with the morning coffee; certainly beats the drivel on Fox and CNN.1 point

You were great! Thanks again so much for the great day of riding. I thought the speed was really good, nice variance from time to time. Wasn't too bothered about having to turn around here and there. All part of the deal!1 point

You get faster by riding with faster riders. We do a brisk spirited pace thru the twistie stuff but a responsible pace in the straights. You will not be left behind. We wait at all intersections to bring the group back together. If you are having probs with pace or corners speak up and one of us will help with some pointers on your riding. I'll personally hang back and work with you if needed. If you really want to improve do a track day. I'm at Mid Ohio a lot and will help you there too1 point

Glad to meet everyone, it was a pleasure riding with you. Thanks Helmutt for leading the group down and back.1 point

just over 330 miles total trip yesterday. It was definitely worth the cold start to meet and ride Thanks to Dizzledan for the meet at IronPony and ride down, and for the media. Thanks to Cdubyah for leading the slow group, great job keeping us together through all those stop lights! Looking forward to the next one!1 point

Yea, I've thought about doing the exact same thing several times going through there... the detour isn't very long but no one ever seems to be coming the other way when I get there...1 point
-
Exactly! Glad no one was upset with me leading at the speed limit1 point
-
That max speed must have been before meeting up with the med-fast group. I don't recall our group going over the stated speed limit. That is my story, and I am sticking to it.1 point

Let me know when you get this so we can take turns revving it up in the garage.1 point

Pokey - I never mentioned "good" riding like California canyons, but I make sure I enjoy what is offered to me around here. I make due man and still enjoy myself. I'm not going to never ride because the "dragon" isn't near by. I'd pick MidOhio over any road though honestly. But yeah, I know what you mean man. Sometimes I go home not fully satisfied.1 point

I made it home about 830. had to hit one last fuel stop in Piqua and it was getting chilly fast. I figure I had about 450-475 miles today 6AM- 830PM. Thanks to everyone that made this possible. I really enjoyed the whole day... minus maybe the fog this morning. haha Glad you made it home claine650. and has anyone heard from Calinazaret yet?1 point

Thanks Dan for taking the group pictures. Thank you leads and sweeps, and thank you tonik for the sammiches. Thanks to all that was at the ride and those that helped organized it all.1 point

Didn't really check mileage, but probably around 600 for me. My ass was pissed on the way back, I need a better seat, or a gel padded ass girdle. going to Denver in a couple weeks for vacation, when I get back first order is new tires, break em in, and id personally like to run back up to hocking for another day of good riding. I'll be sure to check if anyone else would like to join to get a small group together possibly. Anyone know a cheap place to get tires mounted and balanced north of cincy?1 point
