Yeah Harleys suck. My Softail is always getting bugs stuck on the windshield and contantly needs gas after I ride over 150 miles. Not only that, but the engine heats up every time I use it and makes clicking noises for 45 minutes after, and sometimes when I pull out there's a squealing sound coming from the rear tire - on the highway it gets very windy. The problems never end.3 points

I have three kids and have never needed to use my smoke alarms before. Maybe I should toss them out?2 points

If you wait to start carrying until you "feel threatened" then it is already going to be to late at that point. Practice and get comfortable wearing and using your firearm and then practice some more...and then PRACTICE again. And when i say practice i don't mean just going to the range and slinging lead. I call that type shooting spray and pray which is absolutely useless. I know it sounds gay but practice drawing your UNLOADED firearm in front of a mirror about 100 times or so. Muscle memory is a great thing and god forbid the time ever comes that your family or yourself are in danger you will have the know how to protect them.2 points

I'm personally for anarcho-capitalism and libertarian approaches to what ails us as a society group so to hell with organized governments who only want more power and control at the local, state, and federal levels. We are already a police state so it doesn't matter if you choose to support the po-po and their agenda, they're not your fucking friends. As for all of the other farked up druggie kids out there....where the fuck are their parents? Personally, I don't give a shit what choices they make just as long as it doesn't wind up on my lawn.1 point

If by "drug war", you mean cartels offing one another over turf in northern Mexico...yes I support it....wholeheartedly. If you mean "drug war" as in the "war" against civil liberties costing taxpayers billions of dollars while not really accomplishing anything besides filling our prisons with non-violent offenders, and increasing the amount of agents on the DEA's payroll, then no...no support here.1 point

I actually had a technician over last night for a different issue. He told me it is the power board which retails for $300 new. I am going to search e bay and a couple others and see if i can get one for around $100 and if so fix it. It is as simple as removing the back cover, unplugging the old one and plugging in the new power supply. If not, this bitch is getting blown up!1 point

I'm going to start a thread about "Bikes Hoblick hasn't owned (yet)." So far the only rides I can think of that I'm surprised Ryan hasn't owned at some point (and I may be wrong) are: - SV650 - Concourse - Goldwing I'm poking fun, and I don't share Ryan's enthusiasm for upgrading bikes, but I think his posts above are pretty awesome. He's owned everything, and ridden them all enough that his opinion can't be invalidated. Regardless of what he's on, he expects it to live up to the performance it promises. Clearly those standards are different for a full bagger and a sport bike, and that's okay.1 point

I carry just because I can, and I see no harm. Can't hurt to have it around is my theory.1 point

No need to get frazzle dazzled with the points guys.. It is just mini racing (monkeys racing kids bikes). We will make it RIGHT and FAIR for all. It will be black and white/addressed for the next round and most definitely for the next National event. Remember.. This is my baby that I created years ago.. I never thought it would get as big as it was last weekend. Kent, Russ, myself and a few other officials will sit down and map out a plan. It's to the point now where it needs to be the same every year, same class rules, same schedule, same points, etc.. But..like I always say... If u want 1st place points.. More throttle and less brake! Lol1 point

It's much easier to wage war against the unwashed masses here in 'Merica and claim "immunity" when they royally fuck up like they did in this heinous raid.1 point

I'd love to see some kind of cost-benefit analysis put to the SWAT Team Industrial Complex. How often were cops getting killed executing warrants in the days before no-knock raids were common? And how much has that figure now fallen, if any? And if the number of dead cops has fallen, has it fallen by enough to justify the number of dead babies, terrified grandmothers, dead dogs, and billions spent on their soldier-gear? I am guessing not. We should have been shipping these assholes to iraq and afghanistan over the last 10 years. Find out how much fun playing infantry is in that setting...1 point

I can 'open carry' while operating the bike...because no matter how you carry it on the bike it is considered concealed...and I have a CCW. As for open carry off the bike, just not my thing. It freaks people out, they call the cops...the owners of businesses put up no gun signs after you leave so you don't come back. Not a fan of open carry at all. I get why some people are, but that isn't me...unless it is a big staged event to make a point to the local politicians who are being asshats. That I have done, and will continue to do.1 point

Just reserved tours and a room to take the young'ns to Mammoth Cave for my birthday weekend. They are pretty excited as am I to be able to share one of my fondest childhood memories with my own kids.1 point

The militarization of our police force...and it is ours....we pay for it, it belongs to us and should serve us....is very troubling. The eagerness that these doughnut commandos display to play dress up with all their tacticool gear and raid houses on a whim and a warrant shows that they have clearly list sight of what it means to protect the innocent and serve the public trust. I hope meaningful legislation can be enacted to curtail these types of dick-brained intrusions.1 point

I'm the same way. To each his own, but I'd rather take an extra few seconds to wake up and be really sure that noise is an intruder than to shoot the wrong person, even if that makes me a little more vulnerable to an out-of-the-blue threat. I guess that might make me "sheeple" to the hard-core, but that's my ethical dial to turn, not theirs.1 point
