  1. this is why asians should be in charge. not only because we are clearly the superior race in every way, but because we hold both whites and blacks with equal disdain and contempt.

  2. No. I've ran 2 cycle mix in many things when out of normal gas. Tiny bit in a can won't hurt anything.

  4. why do presidential candidates (or rather, their campaigns) talk about the "black vote" as if all black people inherently agree on political issues? And assuming they did, why would a candidate care so much about what 13% of the U.S. population thinks on a given issue? Statistically, I would be shocked if there weren't more gay voters than black voters in America. Why doesn't anyone pander to them? **edit - these are all rhetorical questions.

  9. Before, I was riding with earbuds under my helmet. The wires were always a pain in the butt. A guy at work (who rides a Ducati Diavel) recommended I check out the LG bluetooth earbuds - the kind that have a ring that sits around the neck. I found some from www.nexlus.com for $34. They're the LG HBS-730. There were some mixed reviews... the HBS-730 seems to have better sound quality than the HBS-700, but can experience frequent drop-outs of signal. I figured I'd give them a shot. My coworker told me that I would just need to tuck in the around-the-neck part under my jacket so they don't get blown away. I got them last night (I ordered them on August 8, 5 days prior) and wore them in to work this morning. They work great! I just tucked the earbuds in, stuck my helmet on, made sure the neck part was safely under my jacket collar, and had 0 problems. Now, the music controls are on the ring part, so they were out of reach, but I use a Pebble wrist watch as a remote, and that fits around the handlebars. I don't like to play my music on my ride until I'm on the highway... On city streets, I need to hear more. With my earbuds, the right tended to drop out mid-ride, usually, but both of the little rubber earbuds on the LG headset grabbed pretty well and neither came out on the ride. They do a great job of sound isolation, too. Just thought I'd share... If your phone has bluetooth and you want to listen to music while you ride, $34 is a pretty cheap solution. http://nexlus.com/index.php/electronics/lg-electronics-tone-hbs-730-bluetooth-headset-retail-packaging-black.html

  10. +1I do that all the time. Especially in my lawn mowers and tractor. I rather mix new 2 cycle than leave it set for a year.

  20. I've most definitely driven like an asshat a few times, I'm not saying I haven't. What I'm saying is, the barrier did it's job. It's not dangerous. It's not going to jump out in the fucking road in front of you and chop your head off...it's going to STOP you from going into the opposite direction of traffic, potentially causing more damage/harm to others. The roads are safer with them in place, and that's a fact that can't be argued.

  21. The pictures released show a person (that police allege to be Brown) assaulting the store employee. That would make it felony robbery, not misdemeanor shoplifting. Not jaywalking. Of course shoplifting does not deserve deadly force but you're making the mistake of linking A to C without considering B. And you don't even know, for sure, what A is. That's the same mistake people make when they say someone was arrested © for speeding (A) - when in actuality they were arrested for something they did while being investigated for speeding (B), such as refusing to sign the ticket, or trying to drive away from the stop prior to it's actual termination. So, yes, a shoplifter (A) CAN be shot ©, yet, if he tries to stab the officer who comes to invesitgate the shoplifting report (B). Let's all take a moment to remember that we only have scant details here, so nobody should be using any details to make absolute statements of unerring truth about what actually happened. Nobody should be judging the behaviour of any involved person at this time, whether supporting or decrying, as the information available to us is in a state of flux. Specifically, this statement: Implying that the officer had no reason to shoot Brown because he was only "jay walking" is unsound given that it is based upon information that is both incomplete and changing. The current information is that the officer was investigating Brown as a felony robbery suspect. Could that have motivated Brown to avoid contact with the officer, or to use force to terminate the contact? Myabe, maybe not. Could that version of events change? Maybe, maybe not. We don't know. Let the investigation run its course before you pick a side. I have no strong opinion as I have no solid information.

  23. I don't think you have to be a treehugger to be against hunting. I'm no fan of it myself, but I don't condemn others who do it. It's just another economy in a part of the world that we Americans have basically been taught to feel bad for. When I was in Venezuela I stayed with a family whose patriarch was a big game hunter. His study was littered with animal skins, furniture made of taxidermied big game (elephant foot stools) and all kinds of heads on the wall. It was a lot to take in at first and he could sense it. He explained to me exactly how each of those animals was killed, and his son told me how much money had been spent to do it. It was over a million dollars, and nearly ALL of it didn't just go into the local economy, but was also diverted to conservation efforts. The animals he killed were either sick and quarantined or older and going to die soon anyways. That's basically how they run those big game hunts. Sure, an trophy on a wall may seem ridiculous and eccentric, but if the end result is a boon towards fending off poachers, is it ok? I believe so, but you're entitled to your opinion.

  34. Another year of MotoGP at Indianapolis is on the books, and it was a great weekend of racing. I also ran into Dgasser and his wife - was awesome to see you guys! The new track surface and corner modifications were really well received by the riders, and you could tell by watching them that they were more relaxed, and were enjoying riding much more than in previous years. As a result, lap times were down and the racing was great in all 3 classes. The other bonus is I felt like the corner changes made for some better photographic angles, so I moved through most of my usual spots and was pretty happy with the results. It's been interesting watching Rossi's style evolve this year. He's really getting off the bike more than he did previously: Colin had some great special leathers for the Indy race: Trying something different with Dani: Loved the intensity of Cal's look: Indy skyline courtesy of Mr. Marquez: Lorenzo looked much better than in past years: Not a good day in qualifying for Bradley Smith. Fortunately he was not injured: Downtown was great as usual, and getting bigger every year. There were so many Groms running around that I now desperately want one. Really sad to see Colin go, but I'm glad that he's able to leave a very successful career and spend time with his family: Basically superman: I'm still working through the majority of the shots, but the rest will be here

  38. I think that is pretty accurate. If a cop was right or wrong, other cops & the union will protect them. That does nothing to benefit citizens.

  39. The police unions have allowed the bad cops to keep their jobs for a long time. I honestly don't know how good LEO's tolerate it. I understand that they look at Joe Cop and think, "man, that guy beat the shit out of an unarmed protestor ...If I did that, I'd want the union to help me keep my job." What I don't understand at all is why they don't think, "hey! that a-hole was beating the shit out of an unarmed protestor! This kind of shit is what gives police officers a bad rep. fire his ass!" It's the assumption that they'll be the one in trouble some day that leads them to protect their own when they don't deserve it. Sounds mildly paranoid, but such is the world in which we live...

  41. I think we all agree that the looting of stores is idiotic, at best. But I'd disagree that the looting is a bigger issue than what appears to be ...if the reports are true...that this kid was basically executed, no matter what he did prior. If he gave himself up and the cop followed him, stood over him and emptied his pistol into his back...then yeah. That's a bigger problem.

  42. I'm free that day, so count me as a "yes." I'm none too thrilled about the 3 hour slab to get there, though. If anyone else is coming from NE Ohio and rides down, that'd make it more tolerable. I'll PM you about an XL shirt. I'll be in the slow group... and since you said to sign up for one group slower than we THINK we ride, I'll have to sign up for the group that arrives 15 minutes late, BSes in the parking lot for an hour, rides for 1 hour, gets a "bite to eat" for 3, rides for one more, and meets the fast riders for THEIR end-of-day meal

  46. Pretty small one. The cruiser haters here are pretty loud. You will recognize the little tards pretty quickly, just give it back to them. It makes for great sport. Might want to take a look at meetup.com, there is a big cruiser group there. Northcoast 99'ers. Not a bad crew, some of their rides are pretty well laid out and to cool places. If you do any riding with these folks, just watch how they describe the pace and choose carefully based on that.
