  1. While you're waiting for someone to buy it, pull the spark plugs and dump about a half cup of ATF in each cylinder. On the chance that the rings are gunked up/froze. I've freed up a couple of motors like this. After a week or two, change oil and try it. Just a few bucks, might work.

  2. I agree, unless they're going to completely grind the cracks out. If there's oil soaked into the fiberglass, it all has to go until you get to clean material, otherwise the resin won't bond to it.

  5. Watching for a finalized date. I would love to come hang with everyone and it's just that much more of a reason to keep my physical therapy pumping so I can ride again next year.

  7. I rode 50's 70's and 100cc trail bikes as a kid, but this was my first street legal bike: Actually, this is an '83. My first was an '82, but they're the same. The '82 I got right out of college, back when I had a new wife and son, a mountain of debt and almost no disposable income. I ended up selling it to put a new roof on the house. Years later (more than I care to admit), I started feeling nostalgic and purchased this one on eBay from a guy down in Tennessee. It hadn't been plated in a long time and was missing the turn signals, mirrors and working charging system. I have completely disassembled it, replaced every rubber part and gasket, repaired the electrical system, replaced half of the transmission gears and shafts and generally made it road worthy.

  8. I'm digging this thread from the grave. It's winter and I'm bored. 1st bike, 2005 Yamaha YZ250F. I rode quads before that, but nothing that was mine. It was too much for me, 16 years old and stupid. It kicked my ass to the ground many times. 2nd bike, 1st street bike was a 2001 CBR F4i. Bought strictly on looks and budget. I had so much fun on this bike. If I ever find it, I will try to get it back. 3rd bike, 2006 Harley Sportster 1200 Custom. I thought I wanted a cruiser for more comfort, I was wrong. Rode this bike the least and decided to quit riding for awhile and sold it. 4th bike, about 6 months after selling the Sportster, I got the riding itch again. Found this 98 BMW K1200RS on cycletrader in Dublin. This bike opened my eyes to the Sport Touring style. Loved the bike, just too costly to maintain and was starting to age. I probably would have kept it if it had cruise. 5th and current bike. My favorite of course. The 2014 Yamaha FJR1300A. I have ridden this bike more than any of my others. I have had it for a little over 2 years and I still don't get bored of it. I can't wait to see where this bike takes me in the future.

  9. You can also mix some acetone with the ATF. About 40%-50%. This mix is also good as a penatrating oil on rusty bolts. Old Grandpa trick. It is important to note NOT to spin the engine over until the crankcase has been thoroughly drained. While the stuff (with or without acetone) is good for dissolving rust, broke down oil and other gremlins; it's death on a lubrication system. Ask me how I know.

  10. 23 isn't that good. I rode it through southern Ohio and part of Kentucky, this fall. I had been told that it was nice, I thought it sucked. 16 is the way to go.

  11. Have you seen inside the cylinders? Tried any PB blaster? I'd love to have that bike. My dad had an 80 or 81 that I rode back-and-forth to football practice on. It was the bike that I fell in love with street riding on.

  12. This is my new favorite pistol! I got out over the weekend with it and was very pleased at how well this gun shoots...I have only fired it with my suppressor attached and the accuracy is remarkable, after about 30 rounds I was able to start taking the caps off bottles at 20 yards consistently. Ran all different types of ammo through her to test it out and i only had one fail to fire and that was the ammo not the gun. If you are in the market for a 22 pistol i would strongly recommend looking into one of these. Absolute freaking blast to shoot especially suppressed!
