  1. Fortunately for Mark, he had a rear facing GoPro recording at the time. He sent me a video showing the cop hauling around a long corner and then lighting him up. Definitely no way he could have paced him. Mark pulled over right away. Once all this gets resolved, I'll let him release the actual footage for you guys to see.

  2. The good news is, I'm racking up the overtime this week. Need to then decide between the FZ-10 for reliability and power whoolies or a Honda Element to pull the track trailer. FZ would be a lot more fun but I'm hesitant to buy a bike off the show room. I think I could get pretty close to even if I sold the Triumph and the SV though, may have to toss a couple $K on top. Common sense tells me get the Element this year, get a used FZ next year. Life is so hard.

  3. Yeah, I figure I can find a lightly used FZ-10 next year, or maybe even next winter for around $8-9k. A few places have them advertised at 10999 new, but that's with none of the dealer fees attached which I'm sure is how they get it up over MSRP. Can dump the $$ I save on a used bike into ++horsepowers and springy bits.

  4. I've got a card too, but they payroll deduct any charges put on it that aren't pre-approved. On larger events we will do a thing called "Crew Meal" where everyone pitches in $20 and then you order whatever you want except alcohol. 2 people last year got a 2 drink maximum policy put in place because they ordered $500 in scotch for themselves like assholes. Generally we end up at pretty nice places in a private room. Every other meal is good luck chuck, unless it's provided by the client as a lunch/dinner buffet or something in the ballroom/meeting space. BUT! we discovered and snuck into the employee cafeteria, which has a $3 at-cost buffet for all resort staff. score.

  9. I will admit I was behind him and wondering for a long time WTF he was. And I never heard a siren from him, the pickup coming the other way once we passed the station had a hell of a siren. And yea, when he got to the station he was looking at his car and dicking around.

  10. That was a pretty lame light setup he had. When the volunteers around here are on your tail you freaking know it, with sirens and decent lights. Did you notice once he got to the fire station he didn't act like he was in any kind of hurry.

  11. I didn't notice him until town. I thought it was an unmarked cruiser who caught me in one of my moments of weakness. Then I thought maybe a mailman, or a lead car for a wide load. Anyhow, he wouldn't have gotten around the car + truck in front of us anyway. :/

  12. Whoever was completely stopped and out of their car on the route 2 bridge going westbound from Cleveland taking pictures of the sunset, you sir are a fucking idiot. I hope you almost getting hit by every car passing by was worth the shots you took the other day.

  14. I'm thinking we should plan a trip to the big bucket and pray to it or give it offerings or something. Without it we might not be riding right now.

  15. Even if you fight and win, you could still have to pay court costs and you have to take a day off work. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes....(We've all done it though)

  16. Cops routinely lie under oath (there have been multiple studies) and their testimony carries far more weight than yours.

  17. They are just a simple fork seal like any other fork. So when they fail, they should be replaced. Mine failed at about New River Gorge on rt 60. By the time I got home, the front of the bike had an oil residue all over it.

  19. The stuff is miserably expensive but check out Devcon 11770. It's a white ceramic infused epoxy coating designed to seal metal in high wear environments. I've used a similar product from them years ago to rebuild bearing surfaces in aluminum and the stuff is amazing. https://www.amazon.com/Devcon-11770-White-Brushable-Ceramic/dp/B001HWAQW2/ref=sr_1_1?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1487608229&sr=1-1&keywords=devcon+11770#feature-bullets-btf
