  3. Not my bike, first customer of the year in the garage. 76 cb550, trailered in running on 2 cylinders. After pulling the carbs off I'm astounded that it was even running on 2, but Honda makes (or used to make) some fucking stubborn bikes that refuse to run, even when critically damaged. #1 carb, bowl full of green liquid no longer classified as gasoline. Float almost inoperable. Jets completely sealed with denatured gas. #2-4 carbs, in slightly better shape, but jets all plugged, float valves full of debris. Quoted customer $250 for full rebuild including parts. Bike has 20k miles on it so engine is still tight as a teenager. Will have it purring like a kitten by next weekend.

  9. Great point until you consider this thread is littered with people bragging about how they ripped off Bridgestone not only getting double what was intended but also teaching each other how to file for it an extra time on another site and get it twice. Disingenuous level: Expert.

  15. So, basically a french press without the ease of a french press? Difference being the simmering part instead of letting it seep off-heat?

  17. I just put Liqui-Moly from The boneyard in my GSA...shifting feels smoother than ever. Definitely saved a few $ over BMW branded stuff.

  21. I rode a small naked bike for 4 years (in a city with NO freeways) Its if funny that so many low cc bikes have fairings with their limited speeds and that they're beginner aimed and likely to get dropped. And that they're parallel twined when so few large full faired are.

  23. That's crazy. I'm no lawyer, but just because you agree not to sue, if Uber is negligent of an injury they are still liable for damages. With some background in robotics, I must say this technology is not foolproof. The sensors fail, weather and dirt affect the optics and components, and electronic noise and bad coding all play a part in a bad decision. This might sound crazy, but cities are full of pigeons... and they do fly between cars, let alone leave gifts. Like automatic check outs at grocery stores... I don't interface with robots. 1) I like interacting with people. 2) I pay people to work. If I'm supposed to work then pay me. 3) People need jobs.

  24. I'm back... with an official up-to-date list of which oils are JASO. March 2017 release. http://www.jalos.or.jp/onfile/pdf/4T_EV_LIST.pdf Don't forget that certifications are expensive, and not all oils do that. Some might simply says "meets the requirements". Which may or may not be true. And they won't be on this list. Also: JASO MA1 is for 4 stroke engine, wet sump, wet clutch, combined transmission. JASO MA2 is same, except better for catalytic convertors. JASO MA is oil that meets part of MA1 and/or MA2, so gets just "MA" (or is dawn of time old). And yes, Shell Rottela T6 is "crunchy/notchy" in the transmission quickly. It's not for me. The short story... stick to the manufacturer's recommendation and their brand of oil. Second best, Repsol. Anything else, you're on your own; like me using Mobil 1 4T or Castrol stuff.
