  2. So the car will use my phone as a hotspot for software updates and to use Google search for Nav. It has built in POI's but google is all encompassing of course. Phones can't be a hotspot while wifi is on. That means get in the car, turn off wifi and turn on the hotspot. PITA. Genius that I am I got an app called Tasker. It watches for the phone to bluetooth connect to the car. When it sees that it automagically does the hotspot for me. And when I walk away and drop the Bluetooth connection it turns wifi back on. First world problem solved!!

  6. Input precision is the biggest reason smaller bikes are beginner friendly. Teaching a friend to ride this past summer, if he had a liter bike, he'd have launched it into his neighbor's ditch day 1.

  7. Thanks!! Yep, it has the wireless charger. It also supports Android Auto or iPhone Carplay. Just plug the phone in via USB and the phone is fully accessible via the touch screen. There is no option available on this car that I don't have. And to hell with the rhinos and whales. There are plenty of hippies to do that.

  11. I wish I could transfer our meals and snacks to someone. I would give them to you right now. We have a boatload of them left. One can only eat so many 3 course meals in a week, and we have exceeded ours. I told the wife that I intended to give away the 30+ snacks that we have left remaining. Strangers will probably wonder what is wrong with us, but if we paid for it, someone should enjoy it. I will probably skip the last day at the park, because it $uck$. I was thinking about renting a Wing and riding to Key West and back tomorrow. Unfortunately, I don't think I can ride 800 miles in a day then drive the long ride home in my current condition. In a few more months, it wouldn't be an issue. Di$ney $uck$!

  12. Found out my sister's wedding next year may overlap the June Gap Trip. The fun part? She's getting married just south of Suches, GA. Maybe. Looks like June Gap + Wedding Trip next year Walk her down the aisle in my power ranger suit.

  13. Some bikes are more beginner friendly than others. Smaller bikes tend to be less intimidating & more forgiving. You can be less precise with the throttle, braking, and steering inputs on a Ninja 300 then on something like a ZX10R Honestly, a Ninja 650 should still be pretty beginner friendly.

  14. passing slower traffic in any low-powered vehicle is about proper planning. Just like at the race track. If you're on a ninja 250 (or daily driving a 2003 corolla), you can't ride the ass of the car in front of you, then cut left and floor it to make a pass happen. You have to hang back, and start accelerating (hard) before the left lane is clear, and time it such that you're already closing on the car in front of you at a 10-15mph deficit when you move left and go around. Accelerate in your own lane, and make a pass at-speed. Don't get into a drag race with the guy you're passing when you're the one heading head-on into traffic. At highway speeds, I agree, a 250 would start to struggle, but the principal is still the same. I don't encounter very many cars doing 90 on the highway, and unless a 250 is badly out of tune, it should hit 90. It probably takes a while to get to that speed, but it will do it.

  15. The only 250 I've ridden is a 2013 with a power commander, but at no time was it lacking the power to pass, even on a double yellow. Now if the "slow car" was doing 70... Then maybe?

  16. I had a cbr250r that I rode for about 9,000 miles, mostly commuting. It was a fun bike & I did ride some twisties on it. My main complaint was that if you got stuck behind a slow car in the double yellows you were pretty much stuck behind that slow car until it turned off or you turned off. IMO it's more fun to ride a fast bike fast than a slow bike fast. The small bikes are great teachers for taking a good line & keeping up your momentum though.

  22. I've been married once, I probably won't do it again. Green grass? When I'm completely unattached it seems like I can't find anyone worth asking out, like they've all suddenly vanished. But, when I'm dating someone, it seems like there's a parade of beautiful women that want to flirt with me. Honestly, I think it's a fucking conspiracy created by women to mess with my head.

  23. The wife and I went out to dinner tonight. Judging by the amount of white people here, this Cracker Barrel is the most appropriately named restaurant in the history of anything, ever.
