Jan: I'll make you an offer that might be better/cheaper than what your you've proposed. I'll lend you my '09 Suzuki DL650 (VStrom, non-ABS) for the time frame you've described. I have two bikes, and I can't ride them both at the same time. Here's the conditions: 1) I'm located in Cincinnati (SW Ohio) which is about 1.5-2 hours from Westerville--you gotta figure out a way to pick up and drop off the bike at my house; 2) I won't ask for any rent money from you--you are borrowing the bike gratis--but we will sign a contract saying that you will be responsible for any damage/loss/theft/speeding citations during the time you are in possession of the bike, and I will require a cash deposit of $500 to be refunded to you when you return the bike in satisfactory condition. Be aware that the drivers in the US are probably an order of magnitude worse in terms of driving skills, attention to the road and other drivers--ESPECIALLY MOTORCYCLES--thatn what you are used to in Europe. Fair warning to be aware and supremely cautious when in the saddle. Bike is in excellent condition, with nearly new tires, newer chain and sprockets, recent brake refresh including fluids, oil/filter change. Bike is equipped with touring windscreen, tank bag, and you can borrow my soft pannier luggage if you need to carry your gear. All I ask is that you check the oil after a long high-speed highway trip, as the Stroms are known to drink a little oil at 65-70+ MPH, and keep the chain lubed as needed. Lemeno. Bill Francis2 points

Well little update for today, it has to be the worst day pain wise yet. I caved and started taking the Oxy per the bottles instructions along with muscle relaxers can't say they are really doing much other than making me sleep all day. At least when im sleeping Im not feeling pain. Thanks to everyone that has called, text or IM'ed me and asking if there is anything they can do. Really nice to know there are good folk out there willing to do that. Took a tv into the bedroom and been watching movies all day on Kodi to by the time.2 points

i agree that a company that young is pretty risky, but they're in a growth business and they make some seriously high-end equipment. company is called systech stainless. idk, i might try and do the following: get my resume to him this week and maybe get an offer. if i do, i'll volunteer for the layoff that becomes effective next friday. it's a temporary layoff, so i'd be called back in a few months. in those few months i could feel things out and see if i'm a good fit and vice versa. virtually no risk to me....if i like the new gig, i just decline my recall rights when the layoff is over. if it isnt working out, i go back to work at my current place. but a plan is just a list of shit that's not going to happen the way you think it will, so probably fantasy.1 point

I've jumped off of a couple sinking ships before anyone seemed to realize they were going down. Just try land on something stable if you leave. A 3 year old company comes with a level of risk.1 point

So your continued employment depends on a defense contract. That settles it, time to move on.1 point

Career moves are always tough stuff, I have had to work those out myself. I dont have the answer, but suggest look at some questions.. - Is your present company in a growth industry or pulling back? - You mentioned layoffs, why is that going on when the economy is booming? - Where do you think the present company will be in 5 years? - Are you bored stiff or disgusted with you present job. For the beer job.. - Craft beers industry is booming and in demand, ask the owner what are your 2 year and 5 year plans? - Is he planning to build the biz then sell out, or is he wanting to stay for the long haul? - For a fact, in a smaller company, you have to wear many more hats and be flexible. Is that something you can stomach? - Ask the owner, what would your plans for me be if I join your company? - Ask what is you biggest problem that you face today for the company? - If you dont go to the beer job, will you be kicking yourself in a year? Dunno what to add, but sit down and add more questions like this, maybe bounce it of your wife or good friend. I'm in my present job for 2 1/2 years, but prior that, I had 4 jobs that were flat out stinkers. None of those turned out to be like what the interview indicated....... Best of luck CSC.1 point

Glad to hear you are heading home. Don't be overly fearful of your pain meds, it's easier to keep ahead of the pain rather than waiting until you can't stand it any longer. I know from experience. Don't be too stubborn. You can wean off in a few days when things are more manageable. Craig1 point

Well I'm in the car and on the way home. No surgery at this time, need to see the Doc in 4 weeks to see how things are healing. Lots of pain this morning because I refuse to over do the narcotics. Be nice to get in my own bed.1 point

Thanks for the offer man. I may head down a day or 2 early if I can swing it so I'll probably drive myself. Currently I do have a spot for a smaller bike on my trailer, nothing larger than a Daytona though, probably.1 point

Yes from the impact, it did knock the wind out of him and he was struggling to catch a breath the whole way out of the woods... and don't worry he already informed me about using his valve stem to pump him up, and again I say no worries bubbies I got this!!!?*Rebecca1 point

Ok pervs new update. Hopefully they all get to agreeing on his treatment plan soon so he can go home today. There is a chance he may not get to till tomorrow, Xrays are all done just waiting for them to tell us what I already know since I talked to one of my radiologist that I work with daily.... Tim should be good without surgery but we also found out that the bottom lobes of both lungs are partially collapsed so he needs to take in some deep breaths to help fill them back up and to keep him from getting pneumonia.... But have no fear I will make sure he is safely exercised and taking deep breaths so he gets back to his old self in no time *Rebecca1 point
