Look, it is even called "Tonik's Route". Your lack of appreciation and awe at my existence is duly noted.2 points

On 28 south of Franklin as you pass over the mountains there are several waterfalls. One you can't miss and you can park your bike under. The others are marked with signs. In Highlands stop and walk around downtown for a few minutes. Cool resort town with neat shops. The scenic overlooks are clearly marked the whole time you are down there. If you have time, blast over to Maggie Valley and hit the Wheels through Time motorcycle museum. Awesome museum, he had a show on Discovery or one of those cable channels for awhile. Very cool dude, if he is there ask him to do some burnouts. He will, right in the museum. https://wheelsthroughtime.com/ If you go to it you can make it a nice day trip, stop in Pidgeon Forge/Gattlingburg too..hit a bit of the BRP. https://goo.gl/maps/bMqFagBbBk12 That also gets you on Foothills Pkwy. One of the best roads down there, especially the way you ride. Even if you just round trip that road you will love it. It is just north of the Dragon off 129.2 points

This is the go to route that I invented years ago that everyone else uses and raves about. It covers all of the above, but not all of Blood Mountain. Tuff to hit Wolf Pen and all of Blood at the same time. https://goo.gl/maps/ubUwddnqNfC2 In Franklin you have to go here, and get a bowl of the Blue Crab Bisque. Yes, I was the first to discover this place too. They only take cash. Don't let the fact that it shares space with a gas station fool you. It is 5 star French with very fair prices. https://www.facebook.com/CaffeRel/ I am assuming you are trailing down, so I won't bother to waste time with my routes to get down there. If that is incorrect let me know.2 points

There are some differences between Harrisburg PA and Gattlingburg TN. Gattlingburg has stuff to see and do. Lots of food, and hilarious tourist trap crap. And Pidgeon Forge has epic go cart tracks. Damn things are three and four stories. Everyone should se it once. Harrisburg has nothing. It is a worn out shit hole that started out as a shit hole. But it does one thing Gattlingburg doesnt have, it has a freeway that gets you through town in like 10 minutes. I know this because I spent an hour riding right next to it.1 point

Well looked up the claims for my little hospital visit. Total billed $25,589.80, total I owe is $3699.96 so im only $300 from my max out of pocket for the year. Still have follow up visits and xrays too. So if someone in the family is going to get sick it had better be this year..LOL. Still got one kid that needs his tonsils out.1 point

Negative, there is a back way around town. Two of them actually. But I still avoid it like the plague.1 point

Maybe the 10u has better range but me and Justin could talk around corners and over hills when in the VA mountains a couple weeks ago. If one of us made a pass we would let the other know if any cars were coming on hills and blind corners so they could pass. Think we only lost contact once and that was near a sub station that made some strange interferance sounds.1 point

Our main concern is some of the guys didn't have a ton of vacation time so we are leaving Thursday after work. Which means leaving around 6pm. Don't really wanna be riding into Deals Gap at 2AM. I've done it before and it was sketchy. Plus we are leaving Sunday afternoon and people are going to want to decompress before having to go to work Monday morning.1 point

I'm not going to sit here and type out the dozens of routes I have in my head that I've taken down there. I'll just share this link and say you can't go wrong with any if them. Except avoid SMNP on weekends and mid summer. http://tailofthedragonmaps.com/ But also add Six Gap is my favorite and NOC Rivers End for breakfast, Krambonz(telico)for lunch and Cafe Rel (franklin)for dinner or lunch.1 point

I have to jump in and warn anyone of the gawdawful traffic in/around Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg. I would not recommend this area unless you like traffic jams, tourists, etc.1 point

Well off my meds, not saying it still dosnt hurt but I can manage it with over the counter stuff. Still a long road but honestly I'm feeling better than I thought I would. Siting around the house SUCKS. Made a trip with my dad to Lancaster the other day to get out and the trip in the truck was not fun with my brace on hopefully they give me a smaller one before we goto Florida in 3 weeks. Went out to the garage today and tried my riding jacket on over my brace and it fits...lol. Still kind of hopeful for the June trips. Follow up with the Doc on the 18th and I'll ask at that time if it may be possible. Rumning out of shit to watch on Kodi and netflix..lol1 point

Thanks man. Thanks for the offer. I’ll give you a call in the morning with a credit card number. I doubt that I’ll become a sponsored rider soon as I’m just a guy that’s barkin’ at 60 trying to stay off the streets & out of trouble. From: Waylon [mailto:waylon@woodcraft-cfm.com] Sent: Tuesday, May 02, 2017 9:16 AM To: Schaffnit Subject: Re: Tire warmer quote Hey Jim - Thanks for the email and coming to Woodcraft for your next set of warmers. Our standard dual temp Gen III warmers will fit the tires you've specified with no issue. Normally we do not extend discounts unless you are set up as a sponsored rider with us but because a rider of ours sent you over we would be happy to give you a break on a brand new set of our warmers. This is the kind of relationship we really like to have with our riders. It means a lot to us that Craig is promoting Woodcraft as he is. With that said I can sell you a set of warmers for $xxx + shipping (normally $419.99). If this is something you would like to take advantage of feel free to let me know. Please let Craig know that we thank him for sending folks out way. Let me know if you have any questions.1 point

Ok pervs new update. Hopefully they all get to agreeing on his treatment plan soon so he can go home today. There is a chance he may not get to till tomorrow, Xrays are all done just waiting for them to tell us what I already know since I talked to one of my radiologist that I work with daily.... Tim should be good without surgery but we also found out that the bottom lobes of both lungs are partially collapsed so he needs to take in some deep breaths to help fill them back up and to keep him from getting pneumonia.... But have no fear I will make sure he is safely exercised and taking deep breaths so he gets back to his old self in no time *Rebecca1 point

Well just got fitted for my brace I have to wear for 5 to 7 weeks when I'm out of bed. This thing is going to suck ass. Damn thing more or less turns me into a turtle. Trying to avoid the pain meds, too much I know they can be addicting. Thanks again for all the text, messages and post from everyone checking in on me.1 point

Thanks bubbys, it's a L2 compression fracture. (Thought they said L3 but Simone heard wrong) Not sure of the severity yet, just got bavk from thr MRI. They are hoping no surgery will be needed but we will see. Lots of pain, never felt pain like that before. Was hiking at Mohican with the family and me and my son wanted to wander to the bottom of the Little Lyonns falls while the girls watched from above. I was going ahead of my son to make sure he didn't get hurt. About half way down there was a spot where their was wet moss on the rock edge so I tested it with one foot. Seemed to be okay so I proceded, soon as I put all my weight down my foot went out from under me and down I go with nothing to grab onto. It was about 25 ft to the bottom the first 10 ft was about a 45 degree slide then it drops straight down for the last 15 or more feet. When I crashed I hit the bottom full speed in a semi seated position between a large rock and a log and my mower back took All the ompact. Surprisingly enouch nothing else was hurt but I knew my back was fucked. At that point I was at the bottom of a 50 to 60 ft ravine and needed to climb out using tree roots and stones. Took me 20 min to get back up to the path with the assistance of a couple good Samaritans. Then it was a half mile trail hike back to the car that took maybe a hour using baby steps. Once to the car we made the decision to drive to Columbus to come to Riverside Hospital because all the local hospitals suck. And I'm glad we did they have been awesome here. Taking every precaution and getting me comfortable with minimal waiting. They admitted me for observation and to fit me with snack brace tomorrow morning hopefully head home late tommorow. As far as riding season and the trip in June only time will tell Even if I can't make the Ozark trip or get on the bike I'm coming to Fontana even if it means driving the car. Thabks for all thr thoughts and prayers you all are the best folks, friends and family a bubby could ask for. Here are some picks for your viewing pleasure.1 point

With Andy posting the videos from the fall trip it's got me preplanning this trip. Myself and Justin will be doing a Ozark trip the weekend before we get to Fontana. Will be plotting that out maybe this weekend if any one is interested in that let me know I put you in the loop. How ever keep in mind we will be doing a lot of slab on the way out and the mileage for the week will be insane. So please no touring noobs or anyone that 's not used to long days in the saddle. Plan as of now are to leave Friday afternoon after work and slab to maybe Louisville then slab to the Ozarks the next day. Day 2 and 3 spent in the Ozarks headed towards Louisiana. Day 4 do the entire Natchez Trace Parkway to Nashville. Day 5 make our way to Fontana avoiding as much freeway as possible. That just a general Idea of what we want to do.1 point
