Well GREAT NEWS!!..My back is "very stable" and looks like is healing better than the expected average time frame. Doc is actually a rider herself and after asking me several questions about my bike and seating position, she sees no reason why I could not make this trip. With a couple stipulations as more of a comfort level type thing. One, she wants me to wait the two more weeks before I try to get on the bike just to be ensure that everything has that extra time to heal over. Two, wear one of my braces the entire time I'm riding. Three, if my bike doesn't have a back rest try to put something on the rear seat that I can lean against if I would need too. Which I was going to have a dry bag with an air mattress and my extra jacket there anyway so that was kinda already planned. Four, take it easy. Five, this is the important one she says.... DON'T WRECK..LOL Have my next appointment with her the week after we get back from the Gap and she said most likely at that time she will tell me I no longer will need the brace and she doesn't see where any other Physical Therapy will be needed. So that is it folks trip is on I'm going couldn't be happier. . Doc gave a green light, wife is there to ask are you sure 50 times and healing faster than anticipated as I thought I was.

Wife and I just finished a short loop trip down thru KY; TN; VA; WV; area using route 7 as a N-S direct direction but we zig zag west and east all the way down from Ironton, OH. - Harlan, KY. I was on my VS and she was riding her Can-Am so asphalt was the order of the trip. We arrived on 421S and spent the night at the Comfort Inn. The next AM we headed straight for the “Little Shepherd Trail" and road the asphalt section to route 2010 south, 522 to Cumberland, 160 to Big Stone Gap. 23br to Norton and 760/72 to Kingsport, TN. Next Day we checked out the Tri-City area and headed home. 421N to 615N (Great road) Gas/Restroom stop on US19 then back on 614-71-82-664-616-615-601-602-80 into Haysi. Then 80 thru the Breaks and Elkhorn city. Then it was time to head home on 460/23 N to Ohio. Great time was had. The back country of this area is epic. This is a great way to relax and enjoy the area. Took some photos and video of the trip. B.

Perfect first bike.

A perfectly normal healthy back is at risk of having a sprain and slip and stuff when shoving around 700lb monster let alone days of riding on top of one. Ozark and the deals gap will be there in 2018 and most if not all of the guys will be willing to do it again. SIT THIS ONE OUT BIG GUY. Why take chances.

Finally wrapped up my oil cooler install on the vintage muscle Honda. It fought me every step of the way but I eventually beat it into submission.

Scored a Louis Garneau Course road Helmet. Supposed to be one of the top aero vented lids out. From the top view it looks solid. Also minimal mushrooming. Also, also, matches my frame.

That assumes my wife doesn't burn it when she finds out she road home with it in her lap for nothing.

I will be leading the usual medium/medium+ Hate Parade. Attached is the Sygic File ( .ITF) A couple of the waypoints are off the road so you may have to hit 'skip way-point' as you pass them. Typical of a Sygic conversion. Also attached it a GPX file. DISCLAIMER...it is a straight conversion of the Sygic file. I have no idea if it is correct, nor do I care since I won't be using it. Going to the Doc tomorrow folks. Im optimistic I'll get a caution light to go. Don't think the doc will says yes but don't think ill be shut down either. Ive been feeling really good lasy week or so and have a new brace now that is less confining. Sorry to keep you all on pins and needles about this but I didnt have any real news yet. This time tomorrow I should know. Sounds like most of ya'll were still going anyway.

Either way, it has relevance to this forum because; 1. It's Motorcycle-related 2. Nicky is from next-door Kentucky 3. It still freaking sucks. 4. As What said above, the USA is poorly represented on the roadracing stage, with the other possible exception of PJ Jacobsen. 5. Nicky supported some good local causes/charities.
