When I first built my motocross track at my place the zoning inspector stopped at my house the next day and said I couldn't have that on my property. I said "what piles of dirt". I live in the sticks for a reason. It's my land and I plan to use it how I please. To me if I can't have piles of dirt on my track then the farmers near me can't have piles of manure. If I can't make dust or noise on my track then the farmer better get a quiet tractor and not make any dust in the field. The inspector settled down when I explained the track would only be used by me primarily and I was not holding sanctioned races or anything. I know a couple of guys on the township board now and I guess my name gets mentioned to them quite a bit about complaints. I've told both the guys on the board to tell those that have complaints to come talk to me. I told the inspector the same thing. I'm willing to work with people if they're willing to talk to me. Like maybe not ride before or after a certain hour. I typically don't ride before 9am or after 9pm, but I do ride for like 20min almost daily if the track is dry. To me if you want everybody to be governed on what they can and can't do with their property move to an area that has an association that has all the rules and regulations you want. I'm not sure where or what Pleasant township is all about, but from the video I'd guess it used to be a lot of open land that a lot of new houses are being built on and you have city folks looking to move to the country and it's not exactly what they wanted. Now they want their way or else.6 points

I have some time this weekend to help you troubleshoot and I'm only a couple hours north. I could swing on by and we can figure it out. I'm pretty good at disassembling and reassembling a Gen II FJR.2 points

Hellmutt is correct. The fun is Foothills, River Rd. and then BRP. 441 is a necessary evil to tie those three together.2 points

Not 100% sure yet, but I think my daughter and I maybe there June 6-8. I plan to run Tonik's #1 route the 1st day and then I'm looking at something shorter for day 2. I think I'm going to run Foothills, 209 Rattler, hit a little of the BRP, 1 final run through the Dragon then hopefully to the Dragon Pitt where we hopefully will be able to get a room. Get there load the bike and head home. Get down there Tuesday evening and be home late Thursday night is my hopes.2 points

Wife hates my car. Wants something nicer. Next time it needs a $500+ repair, I foresee it being up for sale. 2 options: 1) I buy something nicer, but practical. Think 2010 civic Si 4-door, or if I'm being honest, probably not the Si model... 2) buy something older, higher mileage, but keep the corolla to drive all winter, and a day or two/week to keep miles off the 'nice' car, and leave the bike rack mounted, pull the XR, etc. I am gravitating to 2004ish BMW 3 series, but would consider almost anything "classy." part of me likes driving a beater. Another part of me understands where my wife is coming from and thinks, "I'm a fucking attorney - I should drive a nice car, damnit." that said, a judge (who I respect a ton) drives a 2013 civic. He also looks like the type of guy who wears a t-shirt during sex...1 point

http://www.fjrowners.com/forums/9-fjr-technical/66177-2006-electrical-problem.html From what I have been reading that there are two different things that can cause these electrical issues on an FJR. One is spiders. Which are ground connections. Two are wiring harness connectors themselves. In the OP'S original post he said number 6. It is actually S6......a plug connector. A failing S6 produces the symptoms that he stated. If caught early before it actually burns to a crisp these connections can be cleaned and put back into service. Just spraying with contact cleaner is not good enough. A mechanical cleaning of sorts---scraping or a small jewelers file then a corrosion preventative compound applied. CAUTION WHEN USING CONTACT CLEANER. If using it on or around plastic and it does not say safe for use on plastic please put it back on the shelf and get the proper stuff. Trust me. I've seen guys ruin handle bar switches and other things by not using plastic safe cleaner.1 point

Yep. The FJR guys started calling them spiders because that's what they look like. It's a metal plate with 6 legs that connect all the terminals together. Edit...I know, spiders have 8 legs, but that's what hey started calling them.1 point

So, a spider is a single-point ground? Is this the concept? Reduces the chance of voltage differences between spread-out ground points.1 point

When I was looking into getting the 1000rr there was a salvage titled bike I had some interest in. My insurance company said they'd insure it but it would be the same price to cover it as a clear titled bike. However, if something happened they would not give me as much money/value for it. So pay the same price for a bike valued at say $5500 but only have a replacement value of $3000-$2500. The 2500-3000 is just a number I'm throwing out there because they would not give me a hard number, it could be even lower. I passed on it. If your not going to put full coverage on the it may be an okay way to go. Realize you will take a hit on the resale value as well on a salvage title.1 point

As far as i understand if you are a frequent rider (4+ days/year) you get 1 free cancellation a year. I'm not sure if that is a rolling year, based off last year or what. There hasn't been four days yet this year. Mid-O is an ice rink with any kind of moisture on the track. But they run rain or shine so you are SOL if you are not a frequent rider.1 point

441 on the weekend is joke IMO. If you're gonna ride it, try going during the week. The road up to Clingman's Dome is nice as well if you got time for a short detour.1 point

I don't think you understand the rules of the contest. You have to insult Casper, not Harleys.1 point

From Fontana, across the dragon. Hang a right on Foothills Pkwy (epic). Take that to 321 in Towsend go right on 321. Then right on Lamar Alexander Parkway which turns into Townsend Entrance Rd. Left on Little River Gorge Rd (epic) to 421. Right over the mountain (epic if no traffic) then left on BRP just before Cherokee. I call this Tonik Route #21 point

This is a great ride for anyone with a ADV bike that wants to see the Hocking Hills area from a new perspective and try out some great scenic back roads. Hocking Valley Motorcycle Club, the Spring Adventure Ride is scheduled for June 4th, 2017. Gates open at 9:00am and the ride starts at 10:00am. The address is 13121 Jake Tom Rd in Logan, OH 43185. From US route 33 take the exit for OH328 North and follow the arrows. The course is about 125 miles and the $35 cost includes lunch. The ride will be a mix of dirt, gravel and blacktop roads. Knobby tires are not required and the route is big-bike friendly. This is an AMA sanctioned and insured event but AMA membership is not required. I do breakfast before at Hocking Hills diner just off the 33/328 exit. on the way to the site at 0830.1 point

Sounds cool, but it would take another month to get the rest and I want to get something asap if possible so I can get safely to work and not have to ride a bicycle and or walk 40 mins to get there.1 point
