  1. So happy to see an OR Saturday ride. I'm in. What time are we leaving Columbus guys? And where do you want to meet?

  2. Copy. And while I am occasionally known to be unfashionably late....I'll be on-time and ready tomorrow. See you guys in the morning!

  3. Ok @jacobhawkins, @Blitz @JustinNck1 Meeting at Pony at 11:15 fueled up and ready to ride - kickstands at 11:25 to get to Muskie by 12:45-1:00. After that we can either run the shorter route or the longer route depending on what people feeling like doing for the afternoon, and be back in Cbus by 6 or 7. I got about 110-120 miles with .75 of a gallon left out of the first tank of gas on the CBR so fuel stops will be every 100 or so unless someone has a real gas guzzler.

  4. I've got two meeting us at IP. One male, one female. Both are decent riders, but not quite as experienced as we are. The girl works for the AMA magazine in town.

  5. I'm sure you all can't wait to hear my next nerd joke, so... Did you hear about the physicist who took his mathematician friend to a lecture about 11 dimensional space? After the talk, the physicist says, "I'm having a really difficult time visualizing how space would look in 11 dimensions. How about you?" Tha mathematician says, "No problem for me. I just visualize "N" dimensions, then let "N" equal 11."

  6. For those I'm not friends with on FB I figured I would put something on here for all that knew Ryan Hill. Last year after he passed I decided to buy his 750 and run the endurance race on it, it's something he wanted to do. We kept the group to close friends and just wanted to have fun and bring the bike home. We had myself, @RonStopable, @RVTPilot, and Bill riding with @TimTheAzn, @J_Copeland and Ron's brother helping with pit stops. I spent the better part of 2 months going through this bike trying to make sure it would survive the 4 hours. Ron and I haven't had a ton of suspension setup time and we made some poor choices when we were able to ride it. Friday came and we had no choice but to get it sorted. It's by no means perfect but it's very rideable by the end of Friday. We make one small change for the race Saturday and ride through any other issues that still persist. Things are going great until about the 3 hour mark when Bill comes in and says the clutch is starring to slip. We were determined to finish for Ryan epically since his mom came out to watch. The last stint I put is was probably the hardest I have had to do. Nursing the clutch on shifts and the bike only ruining about 120-125mph before it would slip made for very slow straights. Tim throws me a 10 min to go sign and I start taking to Ryan, asking him to help make sure the bike makes it. What feels like 40 min goes by and I see the checkered. I have never been so excited to see a checked in my life. Crossing the finish I started to cry and almost blew turn 1 lol. While none of us were setting the world on fire with the lap times it was a great adventure with a great group of guys. @Jester_ and @TRMN8TR were a huge help since they have ran these before and gave us a lot of pointers. Thank you everyone for the help. The shirts were also a huge success. I'll have more pics once I get them from @Photos by Marty and maybe Ron can post up what video he has from the gopro.

  7. Put my new Cee Baileys windscreen on the Fizzer. Really like it, not perfect on the freeway but damn good. Wind is off my chest and neck.

Meet at Pony @ 11:15 work for everyone? Say 12:45 at the bucket and go from there. @Blitz @jacobhawkins

  9. Welcome little brother. Ride a lot put many miles, once you have around 2-3K miles of seo twisty under your belt join up some group rides. If you don't have at least that much twisty exp, and If you jump into one of the group rides posted in this forum as medium to med fast to fast to machretard pacing you will crash. Almost all if not the majority of active members here are kinda mature grumpy old school folks. Short version is, bloody aging, highway hating, mile munching, twisty ripping, atgatting, constant hazing, sport touring, speed breaking, boring bunch of nature boys .... Wooooooooooooooooo

  11. They're not squids. I have confidence that they'll do ok, but one can't predict everything. I'll reiterate the rules of how we ride and they're adult, and respectful, enough to follow them. Should be a good day.

  12. If you want to meet somewhere else and have a suggestion, that's fine. As long as they aren't squids and know to ride their own pace its all good. Not sure what my pace is going to be like to be honest, just had Hoblick set up the suspension this afternoon and the bike feels good but this will be my first time really riding it so... not planning on mach retard or anything.

  15. Welcome to the forum. Sometimes it's a little like the Roman Forum with the lions & Christians but it's a good time. Hope you can get out for some rides with us.

  16. 145 is a very fun road. It's worthwhile to run all the way up to 26 near Bealsville - can then cut south and hop over to 260 via 537.

  17. bought clipless shoes at lunch today. Entry-level stuff. I was VERY close to buying a $210 pair of Bont Vapors that the shop owner didn't fit properly. The carbon bottom pinched my foot a bit. Half a size larger, and I would have blown my budget I was wrong about my quoted mileage yesterday. Strava says 711 miles for 2017, but almost 300 of that is on a spin bike at my gym... Tomorrow will be the maiden voyage cipped in. I'll start on the road and ride to the trails, practicing clipping in and out along the way. maybe mess w/ cleat placement when I get there.

  18. Sorry, I couldn't stand it...I had to fix your longer route. For an extra 15 minutes you get off 7 and on to 536. https://goo.gl/maps/VUdfidJ9KM12

  29. great job guys. i'm sure ryan was smiling as the clutch starting fucking around and asking "let's see you bishes deal with this"

  30. Ryan would have been so honored to have you guys do that for him. Thanks for sharing with us. It's sort of how things would go for Ryan with the clutch problems but he would have done the same and made it through to the end. Good job guys.

  31. You guys did great. I never met Ryan, but this was a great thing you did in his memory. I'm glad I got to meet and hang out with all you guys.
