  1. I know how everyone has an opinion, but I would like some technical thoughts on going with an Electric Motorcycle. Zero has some decent reviews, etc, on their last two years of bikes, and I am seriously considering getting one for the daily commute. https://www.zeromotorcycles.com/zero-ds/ I've got a lead on a DSR(actually DSP - Police model that has been gathering dust for two years), and would like to hear some $0.02 from the motorheads here.

  6. Welcome. Fair warning. This place gets pretty salty during the colder months when everybody is suffering from cabin fever.

  7. Had a great ride with two riders. Did a mix of roads and some of WNF trails too. Got in a little deep on Peacock road down off SR50 that started out fine but went away after awhile. we were able to ride out thru a farm field to the street. No Music just raw clip.

  8. I have confession to make. Against doctors orders I rode the motorcycle twice last weekend and again today. My defense is the weather was so nice I had to ride, it is so great to ride again.

  11. Keep in mind as you read this that I went way out of my way to do the demo ride, because on paper I was in love with this bike and was totally going to buy one. It is a steaming pile of poo. It was low 90's when I road it and it burnt my leg. Not hot, it burnt it. My leg hurt from the heat for an hour after I rode it. And I am used to that, Kawi is not exactly awesome when it comes to heat control. RPM range is WAY too small. If you jump on it at a light you have to shift once in the intersection, and then once again as you clear the intersection. If you don't it hits the rev limiter at 4200. I was bouncing off it the entire ride. As you ride it and speed goes up and down you have to shift, and shift and shift and shift and shift and shift and shift. Jesus it sucked. Windshield is bullshit. All the way up, or all the way down. Retards. It sounds like a Harley. Not loud, but they are certainly going for that rumble annoying exhaust. And yes, it pops like a Mofo on decel. Retards. For me, it did not look as awesome in person as it did in the pics. It looked kind of crappy if you ask me but that is personal choice. Ride comfort and ergonomics were excellent. It fit me perfectly and road like a dream. Controls and electronics and farkles were awesome. Passenger comfort was also outstanding. Every test rider I talked to hated it, both in the group before me and in my group. They had like four in each group.

  12. I've been working criminal hours(average 60/wk) for the past 3 years..... Job is looking like a change is coming, and commuting between 40-80 miles per day is looking probable. the '05 Shadow has been a great bike, and I really like the thought of almost no maintenance. Plus, I have been in contact with the dealership on this little baby => http://www.gulfcoastmotorcycle.com/default.asp?page=xNewInventoryDetail&id=2732630&p=1&make=zero&s=Year&d=D&t=new&fr=xNewInventory . I think I can talk them down to a reasonable price, and get them to take off the flashers....don't know about the PA...but who wouldn't want a PA on their bike? I did check into PlugShare.com to see how many level 2 charging stations actually exist, and was very surprised to see the number and distances being enough to make some day trips(Austin, Dallas, Houston) possible....don't know if I have the cajones to actually try those any time soon.
