My eyes are always wide open. Do I think Trump is doing a great job?..no. Do I think Biden is capable of leading?..also no. But, it doesn't sit well with me the the Dems are fine with the economy tanking and Covid spiking as long as it means Trump doesn't get re-elected. That is an epic failure of leadership that is well above and beyond anything you can lay on Trump. Sorry. Calling that treasonous would not be not out of line. trea·son noun the crime of betraying one's country1 point

Wonder what the stats and charts showed for the first flu, or the measles, or scarlet fever... Or even syphilis? At some point we will all be exposed and we need a vaccine now. I think the increase is for multiple reasons. A couple of the reasons... I do think protesters help spread it, and so did everyone at the local bars. Both sides are responsible for helping the spread. They were not wearing mask and not distant while looting and screaming. More testing is also to blame. You can't tell me to wear a mask in public because I could get it and then say protesters did not spread it when they clearly did not follow CDC guildlines or other laws. Even the protesters that were nonviolent were not following CDC. Just my .02. I really don't believe the numbers, everyone lies and fudges them, especially the media. We will never know the true numbers or reasons. No need to argue about what we can't control or prove (not enough accurate, reliable and published data). ....back to sammiches1 point

It all goes together. Those people out protesting go home to their family, go to work at the nursing home, go shopping at the grocery store, don't wear masks, don't take precautions and we end up where we are. Sure, it was still going around, and the states were starting to re-open around the same time little by little, but the bottom line is the amount of exposure going to one protest is way beyond what someone would experience in their day-to-day over the course of a week or more. Any mass gathering is the same - if people went to a large concert or sports match with 1,000's of people all crammed together we would have the same outcome. Indoor or outdoor does not matter, someone coughs on you, you get viral load, you get sick. Not everyone that went will get sick, but some will, and then their acquaintances will, and then it's off to the races. Repeat that day after day, weekend after weekend and we end up where we are now. We would have gotten here eventually but it would have taken a lot longer.1 point

To be fair, things were on the mend for a good bit before this new spike. What was happening 2 weeks before the uptick 2 weeks into June I wonder? Literally the dumbest thing anybody could do during a pandemic that was showing signs of abating. The blame for the current situation lands squarely on the backs of everyone who went out en mass to protest and/or riot. If they were aware of the risk and decided that the protesting was more important, that's fine - but to turn around and blame other people for the (very apparent) consequences of their actions, I really don't have words.1 point

All the political bullshit 24/7 is making people forget they have friends that might not agree with them on 100% of everything but they are still friends. The media is to blame for the state of the country right now, by and large. Social media and the 24 hour news cycle may be the end of us all. Hope not. Good plan to stay away from it, it makes life a happier experience.1 point

I've been wearing a mask for several weeks now once AZ began to be a hot spot. It is now mandatory most places (not in my town, tho by the way) but I am trying to do my part and be courteous. However, I still don't believe in mandatory mask orders. People should not be forced to wear anything. Should they? Sure. Mandated? It's fucking America and right or wrong that's why it's great to fucking be here. So, call me a covidiot and wish harm on my family or whatever gets your jollies off, but I'll never fucking agree and I'm not sorry either. I gave up talking about it here because some of yall like Tonik seem to be legitimately fucking terrified and I just don't feel that so I'm not gonna talk shit. Like my momma always said, when you have nothing nice to say, stfu 🤷🏻♂️.... So yall do whatever the fuck you want because this is America and its the only place on earth like it. I'll keep wearing my mask out of respect for others around me, but I will never judge anyone for choosing not to 🤷🏻♂️ and I will never support any mandatory mask orders. Idk why I'm even biting this hook again. Bunch crusty fucks about to jump in here and brag about not showering or buying groceries for 5 months... Queue Tonik1 point

I knew I could count on you to tell me how you felt. I appreciate that about you. You used to be so nice to me, though. Guess the honeymoon is over. Since you called my county safe. I would say we agree .44% is not something to be concerned about. You mentioned that I travel to SEO which is currently a hot zone. I had not heard that. I did some number checks there for Marietta where I have stopped for lunch and dined inside at Subway the past 2 trips. I know I’m certifiable at this point. If I did it right Washington county I believe is where Marietta is located. 127 cases, population 59,911 = .21%. It’s safer than my little county. Now I had heard Cuyahoga was bad. As of last night .55%. I still would not call that worrisome. Realize these numbers I’m reporting are since the start of the pandemic I believe. I’m guessing folks have gotten healthy and there may be less people running around that are contagious. .34% safer than Ashtabula County Gentlemen I’m not try to piss anybody off. Jim and @Pauly you had me wondering if I should be concerned. I’m just reporting the numbers I see. Pauly you may be right. Maybe there is no changing my mind, but you made me question my thoughts, think about what was being said, and do my own research. I’m just trying to do the same for you as well as others. Feel free to speak your mind. I don’t see me crying or going away. Remember I asked multiple times for this thread to end. I have typed multiple posts to this thread and just deleted them. I get your frustration/anger. For example I just deleted my opinion outside of less than 1% not being much of a concern to me. The night @Steve Butters was getting ripped I must have typed out 5 different responses and just deleted it.1 point
