  2. Enough of the crap all around. It's time we changed our style of punishment. Apparently society does not appear to be serious about it.

  6. Guys, I feel all your pain as well but here is a little piece of advice. If you choose to go down the suppressor route, you need to understand and expect a few things. 1. The wait times are long.. they are only getting longer. 2. Once you buy it, you need to do your best to forget about it until its approved. 3. If the delay is due to the ATF clearing Form 3's, Form 4's please dont complain to your dealer. They cant do anything about it and are in the same position as you. 4. Suppressors are an investment in both time and money, . This is not an item that you can walk into a store, buy, and go use the same day. You have to understand it could take you over a year from the time you pay until you have it in hand. If you are not willing to wait these times, then a suppressor may not be the best investment for you at this time.

  7. False. It's relevant because it shows he deserved better. You can point out ANY FACT involved and claim it's irrelevance: Why point out that he was 88-years old? Does it matter what his age was if he's just as dead? Why point out he was a man? Does it imply that his being male had something to do with the case? Why even point out he was beaten to death? He's just as dead if he had a heart attack in the car as if he was beaten. MNN - Magz News Network reports this story as: Person deceased, 2 others connected. Justice system in motion, please await verdict. Why am I still playing this game with you? I just now realized I fell for the Magz trap: I know you're just trolling for shits and giggles and still responded. I feel like less of a man now.

  8. I think you're confusing "manipulation" and "relevant facts." Obviously certain things will upset people more than others. If someone kicked a random 58 year old woman in the shins and ran off, am I gonna get riled up when I hear about it? Probably not. If someone kicked my 58 year old mother in the shins and ran off, I probably will. Does that mean the person who told me about those events is manipulating the story to make me mad? No, it means they're telling you the facts about it. And yes, we would be infuriated if this was an 88 year old tax accountant or an 88 year old homeless man, perhaps not to the same extent. It's an atrocity either way. And YES, it would be on this site. Lest you forget we talked about the shooting of a baseball player recently. Hardly in the same league of reverence as a WWII veteran who was wounded in Okinawa. You're just making yourself look foolish.

  9. ** Graphic read and picture ** I felt this needed to be reposted on here. This was on Tri-Cities Craigslist. I wish I knew who the shelter manger was who posted this, this is the most commendable thing I have ever witnessed and this person is amazing. When you surrender your best friend to the shelter go ahead and think it won't happen to them. But now you know better. And don't go out and get another one, if you cared so little to do it once you will do it again. Please Please Read This BEFORE you breed dogs in your back yard! BEFORE you take them to the POUND (USA) I think our society needs a huge "Wake-up" call. As a shelter manager, I am going to share a little insight with you all...a view from the inside if you will. First off, all of you people who have ever surrendered a pet to a shelter or humane society should be made to work in the "back" of an animal shelter for just one day. Maybe if you saw the life drain from a few sad, lost, confused eyes, you would stop flagging the ads on Craigslist and help these animals find homes. That puppy you just bought will most likely end up in my shelter when it's not a cute little puppy anymore. Just so you know there's a 90% chance that dog will never walk out of the shelter it's dumped at? Purebred or not! About 25% of all of the dogs that are "owner surrenders" or "strays", that come into a shelter are purebred dogs. The most common excuses: "We are moving and we can't take our dog (or cat)." Really? Where are you moving too that doesn't allow pets? Or they say, "The dog got bigger than we thought it would". How big did you think a German Shepherd would get? "We don't have time for her". Really? I work a 10-12 hour day and still have time for my 6 dogs! "She's tearing up our yard". How about making her a part of your family? They always tell me, "We just don't want to have to stress about finding a place for her. We know she'll get adopted, she's a good dog". Odds are your pet won't get adopted & how stressful do you think being in a shelter is? Well, let me tell you, your pet has 72 hours to find a new family from the moment you drop it off. Sometimes a little longer if the shelter isn't full and your dog manages to stay completely healthy. If it sniffles, it dies. Your pet will be confined to a small run/kennel in a room with other barking or crying animals. It will have to relieve itself where it eats and sleeps. It will be depressed and it will cry constantly for the family that abandoned it. If your pet is lucky, I will have enough volunteers in that day to take him/her for a walk. If I don't, your pet won't get any attention besides having a bowl of food slid under the kennel door and the waste sprayed out of its pen with a high-powered hose. If your dog is big, black or any of the "Bully" breeds (pit bull, rottie, mastiff, etc) it was pretty much dead when you walked it through the front door. Those dogs just don't get adopted. It doesn't matter how 'sweet' or 'well behaved' they are. If your dog doesn't get adopted within its 72 hours and the shelter is full in most cases, it will be destroyed. If the shelter isn't full and your dog is good enough, and of a desirable enough breed it may get a stay of execution, but not for long. Most dogs get very kennel protective after about a week, and are destroyed for showing aggression. Even the sweetest dogs will turn in this environment. If your pet makes it over all of those hurdles, chances are it will get kennel cough or an upper respiratory infection and will be destroyed because the shelter gets paid a fee to euthanize each animal, and making money is better than spending money to take this animal to the vet. Here's a little euthanasia 101 for those of you that have never witnessed a perfectly healthy, scared animal being "put-down". First, your pet will be taken from its kennel on a leash. They always look like they think they are going for a walk happy, wagging their tails. Until they get to "The Room", every one of them freaks out and puts on the brakes when we get to the door. It must smell like death or they can feel the sad souls that are left in there, it's strange, but it happens with every one of them. When it all ends, your pet's corpse will be stacked like firewood in a large freezer in the back with all of the other animals that were killed, waiting to be picked up like garbage. What happens next? Cremated? Taken to the dump? Rendered into pet food? Or used for the schools to dissect and experiment on? You'll never know and it probably won't even cross your mind. It was just an animal and you can always buy another one, right? I hope that those of you who still have a beating heart and have read this are bawling your eyes out and can't get the pictures out of your head, I deal with this everyday. I hate my job, I hate that it exists & I hate that it will always be there unless you people make some changes and start educating the public. Do research, do your homework, and know exactly what you are getting into before getting a pet. These shelters and humane societies exist because people just do not care about animals anymore. Animals were not intended to be disposable but somehow that is what they are these days. Animal shelters are an easy way out when you get tired of your dog (or cat), and breeders are the ones blamed for this. Animal shelters and rescue organizations are making a hefty profit by keeping this misconception going. Between 9 and 11 MILLION animals die every year in shelters (Humane Society of the United States estimates 3-4 million) and only you - as a pet owner can stop it. I just hope I maybe changed one persons mind about taking their dog to a shelter, a humane society, or buying a dog without researching. For those of you that care--- please re-post this to at least one other Craigslist in another city/state. Let's see if we can get this all around the US and have an impact. THINK before your selfishness begins to take over.

  10. Friday I found out that a fellow OR member, thirdgenlxi, tragically lost one of his dogs. He originally found a pair of pups starving, wet, and cold in an abandoned building. He took them in, raised them, trained them, and has treated them like his children. On Friday Reighly escaped the back yard and was found dead near his neighbors house. The neighbor claimed that Reighly was attacking his pant leg and he shot him in self defense. The vet has come back with their autopsy and said that he was shot twice from a distance with bird shot as a third time in the head which is what eventually killed him. Reighly has been through obedience training and goes to track days with Jared. He wouldn't hurt a fly. Please help support the legal fund to bring his asshole neighbor to justice. http://www.gofundme.com/3nk79w

Wood Gas - it was popular in WW2 when gas rationing and short supply forced alternatives. 50 mph isn't bad, and just carry an axe everywhere you go, to refuel. That's the gas generator on the back deck of the sidecar. Yup, it's a Ural mod in Russia. Russian motorcycle gets wood-power conversion

  14. This is Canada's Top Ten List of America's Stupidity! Which, Of Course, Makes Us Look Like IDIOTS - Because We Are …Check List Below!!! 10) Only in America ... could politicians talk about the greed of the rich, at a $35,000.00 a plate campaign fund-raising event. 9) Only in America ... could people claim that the government still discriminates against black Americans, when they have a black President, a black Attorney General and roughly 20% of the federal workforce is black, while only 14% of the population is black. Forty + % (40+%) of all federal entitlements goes to black Americans – 3X the rate that go to whites, 5X the rate that go to Hispanics! 8) Only in America ... could they have had the two people most responsible for our tax code, Timothy Geithner (the head of the Treasury Department) and Charles Rangel (who once ran the Ways and Means Committee), BOTH turn out to be tax cheats, who are in favor of higher taxes. 7) Only in America ... can they have terrorists kill people in the name of Allah and have the liberal media, primarily react by fretting that Muslims might be harmed by the backlash. 6) Only in America ... would they make people who want to legally become American Citizens wait for years in their home countries and pay tens of thousands of dollars for the privilege, while they discuss letting anyone who sneaks into the country illegally, just 'magically' become American Citizens. 5) Only in America ... could the people who believe in balancing the budget and sticking by the Country’s Constitution be thought of as "EXTREMISTS!!" 4) Only in America ... could you need to present a driver's license to cash a check or buy alcohol but Not To Vote. 3) Only in America ... could people demand the government investigate whether oil companies are gouging the public, because the price of gas went up, when the return on equity invested in a major U.S. oil company (Marathon Oil), is less than half of a company making tennis shoes, (Nike)!!! 2) Only in America ... could the government collect more tax dollars from the people, than any nation in recorded history, still spend a Trillion dollars more than it has per year - for a total spending of $7-Million PER MINUTE and complain that it doesn't have nearly enough money. 1) Only in America ... could the rich people - who pay 86% of all income taxes - be accused of not paying their "fair share," by people who don't pay any income taxes at all. These would be FUNNY, if they weren't the ACTUAL facts. ______________________________________________________________________

  24. I just disagree. What was going through that mans mind as he was being beaten by two juveniles with flashlights at the end of his life? "I made it to Okinawa and back, fighting for not only a free-America, but a free world, to die like this?" The fact that he's a WWII vet is pertinent, and important. He deserved respect and he was beaten like a dog. If him being a veteran doesn't matter, then news outlets should in turn stop reporting when soldiers die on the battlefield. Just another dead human....right? People die every day.

  25. How is the fact that the man murdered was a WWII veteran "irrelevant"? Now you're adjusting you're argument to prove your first talking point: We're all fools for having a visceral reaction to a media story. Which by the way, is stated in a manner that seems to say "anyone that falls for the manipulating medias stories of violence and sorrow is gullible and unable to discern important from unimportant, but you don't fall for those tricks and are somehow, therefore better." Seems like an excuse to not pay attention, or better yet a reason to be uninformed. Sweet dude.... When the fact that the man was a WWII vet becomes irrelevant, that's the same time we are all simply SSN numbers and statistics. Nobody can make that argument and back it up intelligently.

  28. Your comment is more than a little confusing. Did you only read the last two word of my post? If the news media was intending to provoke fear and outrage with this article, it would seem to be a good idea for them to identify the attackers race. I'm not saying the news media doesn't thrive on fear and outrage. But in this case they are intentionally leaving out facts because they have an agenda.

  29. It's only unusual because it's not currently used and therefore, usual. Sweet brag, your position is consistent with everyone else's values. Again no one has said "burn the first person we suspect of this crime without due process or regardless of the verdict."

  30. It wasn't incompetence, it was a mistake. A mistake made while trying to help you out. It wasn't like UPS gave them a cut of the action. You have to consider someone's motives when they f' up. Their motives were pure, get a little kid his teddy bear back. Cut them some slack, or a pay it forward or some other hippie shit. Let it go. Smile, your kid is happy. Edit: BTW, you owe them a couple of bucks for gas for going to the UPS store.

  32. It seems there was a communication breakdown between your wishes and the employee sent to the UPS store. I would blow it off and chalk it up to experience. It's not like they had to ship it, and didn't charge you for the service. The UPS store isn't going to refund any money. I would let it go and forget it. Life is too short. .

Too bad they can't get the death penalty and of course, no one is going to make a big deal out of another black on white crime except to say something stupid about gun control. I guess there aren't enough angry white men in this country to get it the attention it deserves outside of the MSM.

  38. yes, cause that's how our free and democratic society works... I have a better idea... How about we put them on trial, and let a jury of their peers review the evidence and come to a verdict... Then we have some authority (perhaps a judge of some sort) suggest a punishment for their crimes... Just an idea...
