  1. Last time I got pulled over I was nice to the officer, CC at the time. Accepted I was going a little fast (20 over) and he gave me a verbal warning. In my experience, treating the police like human beings is cheaper than being confrontational.

  2. Well, devil's advocate for a moment... Ever heard of the term "acquired taste"? I can't imagine many folks trying whiskey for the first time thought "Wow, this is nectar!" I agree that you either believe something or you don't. People have access to different bits of information, have different chemical and psychological standards for belief. When the combination of available information fits the person's own evidentiary standard for "belief" then they believe. You cannot choose to believe something that you don't. It is not a conscious decision. It's a gut thing. I know what I believe, and I feel that everyone is free to believe whatever they believe - as long as they don't try to force me follow their beliefs.

  3. and here in lies the problem with the god damn government. Who gives a fuck what the republicans or democrats got out of this? We should be far more concerned with what the hell we the people get out of this More debt? YAYYYYYYY. They are all terrible and get every last one of them out of there and ditch this 2 party system that isn't working anymore

  4. The re-paint should be happening Thanksgiving week. So far the car is pretty plain and nothing exterior done to it. I'm not new to forum posting as I frequent Audizine every day. This was my old ride. New ride interior - Swapped in S4 Recaro Seats and a Audi A4 B7 center console that actually has cup holders.

  5. Do you not see why you got ticketed? You could have easily just played nice in the sandbox and spoke with the guy and I'm sure he'd have let you off without a ticket. I understand your rights, but I also believe that you could have easily had a friendly conversation without attempting to prove you being a dick by invoking your 5th amendment right before he even began to question you about it. When you give a cop an attitude, he's going to ticket you out of spite for thinking you know the law better than him, which is how he took the situation when you said "I'm invoking my 5th amendment rights". I've been pulled over several times and been completely polite the entire time, showed a conscious effort that their safety was important to me (by putting both my hands on the steering wheel, not making any quick movements, etc.), calling them sir or ma'am and I've never had any issues with the police. They've been more than courteous to me back and usually let me off with a warning (one time I was doing 55 in a 25), followed by a hand shake thanking them for their service. Maybe you should try it sometime and you wouldn't think cops are all assholes.

  7. Then you would LOVE Rock City down on campus at the Lennox, they rock it out "real musicians" and the service "and pastor" is unlike anyone you have probably seen or heard. MANY of the OSU athletes come every Sunday and there are 3 services packed with 300 plus every service every Sunday. I hated Church growing up and all the mentioned very judgmental ways and scrutinizing that goes on. You will never see anything like that there, big reason why this Church was started. Pastor Chad said recently "I have seen the Devil, and the Devil carries a Bible", come as you are and open your mind. And for every single scholar or intelligent person that tries to disprove the Bible and Jesus Christ with science/human logic/technology.....whatever, more and more often you are hearing and seeing legitimate proof that it is all very much for real. There is no other single literary gospel or documentation that is like the Bible.......NOTHING. Perfect example is INTELLIGENT PEOPLE believing that global warming is man made, boy does that theory change again and again and over and over. The Bible is the only thing on this Earth or interstellar universe after universe that does not change, it is the written word of God plain and simple. This is a good read, check this out. http://www.gotquestions.org/Bible-God-Word.html By the way....the majority of all my best friends are either Atheist or Agnostic, and we all get along like peas and carrots.

  8. I would disagree. My family started attending organized relious services when I was a child. The poeple of that church drove us away, because they chastized us for thinking differently. Not very Christian like. It certainly soured my taste for organized religion and the people the preach it. When I started dating my fiancee, I started to go back to church. It was completely different than I remember. The people were very welcoming, and it wasn't at all what I remembered. No one pushed me, or brain washed me into attending. I actually wanted to attend to see how the sermon would apply to my life. I think it's all about how you take it and apply it. There are still things that I have a very hard time grasping, but I'm not ridiculed for it. To each their. I don't push my beliefs on anyone. I find it annoying when people do the same to me.

  14. They weren't crying wolf. School funding is just that f'd up. A 70 million swing is a little under a 10 percent swing in Columbus's. State funding will swing that much several times a year. Everyone has a right to be seriously pissed off, but it is the State Legislature that should be the target of anger. Imagine being required by law to have a five year balanced budget but you have no idea how much money you will have next year let alone in five years. We don't even know how much, for sure, we will get THIS year until the Spring.

  28. Some things I pulled off the interwebs. .......................... The "Biblical scholar" in question (Joseph Atwill) is just a blogger. Having a blog does not make one a scholar. ........................... http://www.psephizo.com/biblical-studies/the-evidence-for-jesus-outside-the-nt/ ..................... FlimFlam of the Month: “Covert Christianity”http://larryhurtado.wordpress.com/2013/10/11/flimflam-of-the-month-covert-christianity/ ......................... The discussion at the end of this is interesting. http://www.reclaimingthemind.org/blog/2013/10/ancient-confession-found-we-invented-jesus-christ/ ................................ Atwill’s Cranked-up Jesus http://freethoughtblogs.com/carrier/archives/4664 ..................... As for me, I was raised to be a believer. Jesus Christ is my Lord and savior and I don't require anyone to like it. .

  29. I'm from a Pentecostal background and I will never deny that Jesus Christ is real. I have had far too many experiences - good and bad thanks to organized religion - to completely discount the reality of a living God. For me, when I realized that I didn't have the same relationship as my closest friends had with God, I walked away from it. My justification was that I'd rather not pretend to be something when I know that there is a deeper walk and life with Him. I have spent years studying the Bible and there simply isn't any possibility that the Romans "created" Jesus Christ much less the gospel of Christ and Him crucified (there is simply no way they could have written any of Paul's Epistles). I have read tons of books in my lifetime but only one book has ever made a permanent mark on me and that is the Bible. In fact, it's the only one I can remember anything from by memory alone. And BTW, we didn't go to war in Iraq and A-Stan - in fact, any war in my recent memory - because of "religion" but because of OIL and to protect our precious petro-dollar.
