  1. How many cable options do you have right now? I have one. And only one option for DSL. How is it not already a monopoly? And data caps. Yeah, I guess it could get worse than TWC.
  2. I've never used Comcast so I had no idea they were as bad as TWC. Well, I'm screwed, along with 30 million others.
  3. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/the-lasers-fuelling-hopes-of-unlimited-clean-nuclear-energy-9124237.html I'm really hoping this will propel us out to the stars in my lifetime.
  4. http://www.digitaltrends.com/home-theater/time-warner-cable-comcast-buy-twc-stock-deal/ I won't be sad to see TWC go away. They have been my provider since forever since I've never had a choice, and they have always been difficult to deal with. Normally I'd say the #1 service provider buying the #2 service provider would be bad for competition and therefore prices, the world of cable providers is so tightly controlled that I don't think prices will change at all. Service for TWC customers can't get much worse either. Truth be told, I'd like to see traditional phone lines and cable drops to all houses be replaced by fiber drops, and the infrastructure owned by either the local or state gov and bandwidth leased out to whatever provider the customer chooses to go with. I think we'd see some serious price drops if there were more competition than just "pay for our cable instead of satellite" or "pay for our phone service instead of magic jack".
  5. If I wanted a top notch shooter in 5.56, I'd get this upper: https://www.whiteoakarmament.com/xcart/product.php?productid=17554&cat=259&page=1 One of their lower parts kits: https://www.whiteoakarmament.com/xcart/product.php?productid=17602&cat=283&page=1 With whichever Geissele trigger, stock, grip and trigger guard fits my needs. Also, whatever billet lower looks the best (I'm a fan of Umbrella, if you can find one). I'd then spend the remaining $1,500 on glass and rings. But it seems like all you really want is name recognition, in which case a LOLrue, HK, Barrett, Knight's Armament, Wilson Combat, or POF is what you are looking for, even though they won't out shoot that White Oak.
  6. I honestly don't see the appeal of getting that hk over an ar that's half the price.
  7. For that kind of money I'd go with something not 5.56. Either move to a big round in the ar15 platform or go ar10 and .308
  8. Per the rules you have to post a price. Even if you are strictly looking to trade, you still need to place a trade value on it.
  9. That's fine. I'll take one, pm me with how much you want for shipping to 43031 and how to send the payment, I can do paypal or amazon payments.
  10. Can you ship them? I'm interested in one, maybe both, haven't decided yet.
  11. It's Columbus, they just want their revenue. Go in on court day and talk to the prosecutor.
  12. No different than a shotgun in a shotgun rack.
  13. It's always best to assume that whatever you hear at a gun store, especially from "former cops" or "former special forces" is always wrong, partly because they are liars and partly because they are idiots. I plan on doing the SBR and suppressor thing eventually, but I don't plan on sticking around Ohio for too much longer. I'd rather wait until I figure out where I'm going to land, then get started on it. I don't know how difficult it is to move that shit, and don't really want to find out. And back to my original post - I think that muzzle device is too fail and aids, I'll be looking for something cheaper that also points the blast out away since I'm running a short barrel. Probably gonna get this: http://www.icearms.us/products.cfm?show=886
  14. Somebody needs to learn just how amazing the .17HMR can be.
  15. Not sure I want to spend $80 on a joke though is the problem
  16. Stringtown road had a 1" solid sheet of ice where it had been plowed at about 3am. Seriously, don't drive in this shit unless you have to. I'm not looking forward to going home from work at 7am (35 mile drive).
  17. If I were to stick this muzzle brake on a 10.5" AR pistol painted OD green? http://www.spitzlead.com/ http://www.spitzlead.com/SpitZlead_gif_2.gif
  18. Cars used to be exciting. Now they are "safe". Why are automakers so scared to raise the bar? To be daring? To be unique, and fun? This is an across the board issue, no automaker is immune from this.
  19. Yes, they can be cheaper, but usually if you buy in bulk. If just buying one or two this is a good price.
  20. New Sigs aren't as good as old Sigs. Glocks are good enough but aren't the perfection they claim to be. There are lots of good guns out there, but no hands down best gun. Berettas probably get passed over because of price more than anything, and being a steel gun means they are heavier than most modern guns so they are less likely to be used as a defensive weapon.
  21. I've got a smallish Intertherm furnace in my house. It will occasionally fail to start the small motor that exhausts any fumes before igniting. The inducer motor? Draft motor? Either way, I've replaced that motor twice now for the same thing so I'm pretty confident it isn't the problem. When it fails to start it puts the control board into lockout. I flip off the thermostat, spin the shaft in the motor, turn the thermostat back on and it fires up fine. It will go weeks between doing this, or it will happen a couple times a day. It's happened the last couple winters and I'm not sure what could be causing it. I don't believe there are any capacitors between the control board and that motor, so should I replace the control board? Or should I look at something else? It's so inconsistent that I don't see how checking voltage is going to get me anywhere.
  22. http://www.raleightacticalsupply.com/catalog/search/searchresult.asp?ret_id=1377119 Most are on page two. If that link doesn't work right, go to that website and just search for pmag. Their website sucks, but I've ordered from them before and have been happy. Right now they are offering any color M2 Pmag for $12 with free shipping, and out of state means no tax. They also have ones for .308, windowed, 10, 20 and 40 rounders, and 7.62 x 39, whatever you want. All priced cheaper than most places I've seen.

    New toy

ALG Defense is made by Geiselle. Geiselle makes what are arguably the best triggers out there, but they are all match triggers that are $200+ Geiselle wants to keep their name high end, so they made a sub brand called ALG. They offer two different triggers, which are upgraded stock triggers. The QMS is $45 and is a very clean stock trigger, the ACT is the same thing but coated in Nickel Boron (NiB). It's the best "cheap" trigger out there.

Gun envy usually has pmags for around $11. Doesn't get much cheaper than that. If you want to do some cheap and easy upgrades look into magpul handguards, grips and stocks. A more advanced upgrade would be a better trigger. For $65 you can get an ALG ACT trigger which is the best you can do under $200.
